Absorb a bit of history in our 145 year old + converted barn, built by a 19th century sea captain who sailed around the 'Horn' in the China Trade. The outside has the nicks and dings, and the effect of the sea air over its 145 years [that's on the agenda], but the inside is completely refurbished and furnished. From the porch swing is one of the best views of Penobscot Bay, with deep-water ships, day-sailors and schooners from Camden. From the windows of the master bedroom see the Bay Joanna Colcord saw as she wrote her sea Chanties. Sit on the private deck and enjoy watching the boats go by. Sunbathe on the beach below.
Golf Course: There is a local golf course. No need to spend a whole day and drive out of town.
WOW! It would be so easy to fill the entire book with the amazing details of our trip. Doris provided a wonderful place to stay, as well as a wealth of knowledge about everything for the two of us, and our 6 month old!
