Heidi Menard purchased this house in 2005
We enjoy this home as a second property and maintain it as such. It is a wonderful retreat from our normally over-programmed lifestyles. This house has all the creature comforts you want in a vacation home…quality beds, nice linens, fully equipped kitchen and tasteful furnishings. It easily accommodates 2 families. Whether you chose to go out, or stay in, you'll be surrounded in comfort!
Designed for family living, this house has safety gates for toddlers, games and snow toys for kids and televisions and movies for everyone's enjoyment.
The stay was great, we loved coming back to your comfortable and spacious house after a full day of skiing at Squaw. My wife and her friend appreciated the availability and selection of the cooking gear.
The house was very kids-friendly, location was excellent too. Thank you for providing us with an opportunity to have a nice Christmas vacation.
This Tahoe home is the perfect size for two families with two master bedroom suites and two additional bedrooms. Our family and friends have been renting this home for a few days in February for the last 5 years. The location is great with a variety of outdoor winter activities, skiing at Northstar, sledding near the house or snowshoeing in the National Forest. Heidi is a wonderful landlord and always makes out stays in her home enjoyable.
2 adults and 4 grown children shared a wonderful 4 day holiday stay at this open and cheery mountain home. The home was clean and well laid out, if private bedrooms downstairs and an open floor plan upstairs that included a kitchen, dining, living, and family room with no walls but separate enough to have multiple conversations ongoing at the same time.
Location is very a ten minute drive to Northstar downhill skiing, yet also close enough to Royal Gorge for the cross-country skiers. And when tired of home cooked family meals, the five minute drive to Kings Beach restaurants and take-out establishments reinforced the convenient location.
So a great property, and a great location, what really makes this a five star experience is that Heidi was easy to work with and incredibly organized. Most importantly, everything she represented about the house and the rental process truthful and correct.

We spent six days here in mid-June for a family reunion (8 adults and a year-old infant) and had a wonderful time! The home was extremely clean and airy and was very well lit during the daytime by natural light streaming through the many windows and sliding glass doors. We had a year-old infant with us and the multi-level floor plan that separated the living area on the top level from the bedrooms was perfect for our needs. Speaking of babies, this home had safety gates at the top and bottom of the staircase between levels, a pack-n-play crib and a high chair, eliminating the need to bring these things with us. All the beds were extremely comfortable and a generous supply of linens, pillows, towels, etc. were provided. The home was also extremely well stocked with toilet paper, soaps and other essential daily living needs. For entertainment, every bedroom had a TV, and the living area had TV, video, a large library of DVD videos, stereo and board games (and clear instructions for use was provided). The Wi-Fi connection was outstanding, with good connectivity all over the house. Heidi, the owner was extremely cooperative in all aspects of the rental and renting this home was a pleasure. It is possible that we may want to repeat this family gathering next year and there is no doubt we will want to return to this home.
This house was perfect for us and our daughter and family. We stayed there twice, over New Year's 2008-09, and again in 2013-14. Kitchen was very well equipped, lots of games in the cupboard and snow toys in garage, instructions were clear and posted, plenty of room for 6. Restaurants, grocery stores, etc. in Tahoe City very accessible. My husband and I walked along the lake trail. The kids (both generations) went skiing, sledding and on the ropes course at Interlakken which they raved about. Heidi was very accommodating and patient while we kept changing the dates, trying to fit everyone's schedule. Highly recommended.
My family was just in aww...the house was impressive. The exterior of the house is just as warming and inviting as the inside of the house. Plenty of space as it mentions, we did not have 11 people by no means but could see it easily sleeping that no problem. Loved the hammock outside. Beds were very nice. Lots of board games for after dinner fun. Even toys and such for the little ones. We brought our two year old with us and she too had a blast. The house is just a mile from the lake as well as the shopping and restaurants. We went to kings beach, very nice. The property was very clean and maintained. The manager of the property is over the top nice. We would love to come back next summer. We would love to try in the winter for some skiing. I would defiantly recommend this property to friends and my relatives. The pros: everything.
The cons: we should have listen to the owner as far as staying longer. Two days was not enough. A must place to stay.
