Dear Jane,
This is a somewhat overdue ‘thank you’ for what turned out to be an absolutely wonderful (and much too short) stay at your Chatham cottage. We could not have asked for more. It was a truly delightful place (as you said it would be)....comfortable from the moment we pulled into the driveway. Even while unpacking the car, we were warmly greeted by a (year-round) neighbor who happened to be strolling by!
It's obvious that you have a special talent for decorating, and care very much about your cape home! Furnishings, color, fabric, use of space, attention to every detail....invitingly beautiful rooms. Oh, my! Such understated good taste. You really thought of everything. We wanted for nothing here. There was so much more space than we expected. (Let me add, here, that every part of that space was spotless!) The kitchen was perfect in so many ways - even with tableware thoughtfully chosen for indoor or outdoor dining. We didn't take advantage of using the gas grill, but hope to...on a return visit. Bedroom mattresses (a joy) and peaceful ocean nights allowed welcomed, soundless sleep. Morning coffee on the deck (though bundled up against chilly ocean breezes in April) was a very special time of day. We enjoyed 'monitoring' the progress on the brand new home going up nearby. And having an ocean view from virtually every point inside and outside the cottage was just one of the pleasures that made the visit perfect! ...having the pristine beach just steps away was - overwhelming.
It was a special time (mid-April) to be visiting Cape Cod, witnessing firsthand the Cape's waking "from a long-winter’s nap.” I do hope you and your family are able to take advantage of spending a good amount of time in this amazing space. Again, thank you so much for sharing it with strangers!
With warm and kindest regards,
Jan K.
