Two bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom, Max 4 people.

Cozy two bedroom house at the end of a private lane in the friendly village of East Blue Hill, Maine. 1800's farm house has been redone but still retains it's original charm. Spacious eat in kitchen, cozy living room with TV and internet access. Queen size bed in the master bedroom and twins in the second bedroom. Full bath upstairs and half bath downstairs. Washer and Dryer. Shed for storing bikes. Gas grill. Walk to sandy cove, for swimming. Short walk to waterfront village park, and boat launching area where you can launch your kayaks, canoe or motor boat. East Blue Hill is off the beaten path yet close to Blue Hill, Brooklin, and Bar Harbor. The town of Blue Hill is a five mile drive away where you will find fine shops and dining for all tastes. Blue Hill has a rich cultural life. Enjoy contra dancing, chamber music, lectures, and summer theater near by.

No pets or smoking.

My wife and I are artists. We live across the lane from our rental. When the house came up for sale in 1985 we couldn't refuse.

The house is a classic New England farm house. It has some modern features yet retains it's farm house charm with some natural and some painted floors. Located on a private lane right in the village, it shares the best of both worlds. Great safe place for kids.

What makes this house unique

East Blue Hill Village is a special place on the Blue Hill Peninsula. It is off the beaten track yet is close to the town of Blue Hill for shopping. There are lots of galleries and interesting places to visit, including hikes within a short drive. Some of Maine's best artists live close by.

I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to a couple or small family. The location is a great base for exploring Blue Hill, the Wooden Boat School, and Deer Isle. Kayaking was easy to arrange and the cove down the street was very accessible for beach combing. The house was light, airy, and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and attractively decorated. The owners recommended local events and restaurants and helped us figure out the DVD player and WiFi connection. They were very helpful!

Perfect rental house!!!

This house is a perfect rental for a family of four. Very clean and bright - with everything we needed. It is in a beautiful little village with one of the best beaches in the area (lovely cove) just a short bike ride away. Large lawn for kids to play, very child-friendly neighborhood - we even went crabbing on the little bridge nearby. Lots to do in the area - esp. neighboring Blue Hill. Kayaking, environmental cruise, sailing, swimming, biking etc etc. Owners very helpful and friendly. We had a great week!
