Enjoy your stay at this beautiful lush property with fruit trees and tropical plants on 1 acre of private space. Not a building in site from your lanai. The suite is clean and comfortable. It is a private suite in 850 to 900 square feet on the ground floor of your host's home, overlooking the garden, pool and valley.. Take cool refreshing dips in the pool on warm mornings and afternoons. The pool is set away from the house for more privacy. It's as if you are in a mountain pond. Arise with the sound of many species of birds . It is a nature lovers retreat. This is a special area of the Northshore for your enjoyment. On the short ride down the hill you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the coastline. Only minutes away from all the famous surf spots, Waimea valley and bay, and sharks cove. Whale, dolphin and turtle sitings are highly likely. Foodland and coffee gallery very close by. Great shopping and restaurants in Haleiwa, Spa treatments and yoga close by too.
I absolutely loved this apartment! I was quite pleased as it was very comfy, clean, and tastefully decorated, had everything we needed and considering my husband broke his leg one and a half weeks prior to our trip to Oahu, I can tell you this place was just what the doctor ordered. We weren't able to do most of the stuff I had planned due to his injury so just relaxing amidst the gorgeous gardens was just fine with us. The property is very accessible and even though the stairs to the pool were a bit daunting for him at first, he was able to navigate and it was so nice to have the pool to relax in after taking drives and doing a few beach days during our week at the North Shore. Charlotte and her family were very accomodating and very sweet. Thank you Zack for the delicious smoked fish and the fruit from your garden, we had smoothies for breakfast most every morning. Go to Ted's Bakery for the most scrumptious pastries ever and definitely check out Haleiwa Town for drinks at Cholo's and superb sushi at the Banzai Sushi Bar and swim with the turtles at Haleiwa Beach Park. I highly recommend this rental if you are a couple who just want to relax and get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii. I hope to return in the not so distant future.
We LOVED our stay at Pupukea Pools. We were on the island for a friend's wedding and were made to feel as though we were the newlyweds! The grounds and apartment were very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location couldn't get any better...minutes to some of the best snorkeling spots the north shore has to offer, mere minutes to Turtle Beach, and Foodland conveniently located at the foot of the hill (we even walked down one day). The pool at the property was clean and refreshing, and we loved how private it felt - it was as if we were in our own private getaway. Char is a lovely woman who made us feel quite at home, and made some amazing recommendations to us for "must see" places, "must visit" restaurants, and "must do" adventures.
My wife and I loved coming back to a quite and peaceful atmosphere after spending long days exploring Oahu. The bed was amazing and the kitchen appliances was more than what we were expecting, everything you need to cook a full meal which we did most of 7 days we stayed. The grounds are beautiful, as is the pool even though we didn't get a chance to use it. Great hiking/running trails just up the road next to the Boy Scout Camp was a real treat. Thank you again Charlotte and Family
Do not hesitate to book your stay here if you want to enjoy the North Shore of Oahu. The beds are very comfortable, the apartment is clean, spacious and well appointed, and Shark's Cove and Pipeline are at the bottom of the hill, as is Foodland for groceries and a couple of good cafes for simple reasonably priced meals. The grounds are beautiful and quiet and the owners Charlotte and Kevin are helpful but not at all intrusive. You can stock the fridge and save money on food or try Pupakea Grill. Everything you need for an enjoyable beach stay, including boogie board, towels and snorkel gear is included, and if you just want to veg out and go nowhere, enjoy the pool, the cable TV and DVD player, reading outside in the garden, or take a short easy hike across the road to the heiau (Hawaiian temple), where you can get a great view of Waimea Bay-- and whales spouting and breaching during whale season.
Where do I start. First of all, it was great working with Charlotte and the rest of her family, they were fantastic hosts. You can't beat the location, a secluded home on the hills above the beach where you can be right in the heart of the North Shore in a matter of seconds, which is also a nice break from the touristy side of the island. Let me not forget the pool and the beautiful surrounding garden.....amazing. Right around the corner you have Waimea Falls, Turtle Bay, Hale?iwa for shopping, and probably the most important - Ted's Bakery for a slice of Chocolate Haupia Cream Pie after a long day at the beach or at the end of a hike. Since I am on the topic of food, a couple good places to hit would be the local food trucks scattered around, great food and you are supporting local business which is always a good thing...there is Banzai Sushi in Hale?iwa which has great happy hour prices on sushi, ahi poke, and beer (perfect dinner spot where you can the stroll down a bit to the beach and catch the sunset). Right down the road from the home is a grocery store (Safeway) so you can get what you need there if you want to eat at home. If you are heading out to Oahu and want to get away from it all, head to this rental and you will not be disappointed. Mahalo Charlotte!
We visited the north shore for a wedding and were even more excited about this place than we expected! Charlotte and her family were very friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful! We had the pool all to ourselves and loved walking through the garden. We are also suprised at how large the room was. It was really two bedrooms (one was small but still seperate), a living room, and kitchen. For what you pay, I could not imagine a better place if you are looking for a beautiful quiet place to relax. We thought the bed was a bit uncomfortable (kinda hard) but are admitedly a bit picky about that and this was the ONLY thing we had any complaints about at all. I would highly recommend this place to anyone we know looking to stay on Oahu.
