The house is in Quandary Village/Northstar, which is about 9 miles south of Breckenridge. It is typically less then a 20 minute drive to the town of Breckenridge and the ski area. Just over Hoosier pass are the towns of Alma and Fairplay and white water rafting along the Arkansas River.

The house is newly furnished with beautiful log furniture which provides that perfect mountain setting. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax in this 2600 square foot home. On the top floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed and private balcony and an additional bedroom with two queen beds. The main floor has a family room with wood stove and entertainment center, full kitchen with all the accessories a cook will need, a dining room, a bedroom with a queen size bed and the laundry room. The first floor contains the game room with game table, an additional television viewing area (DVD/VCR) and the bunk room, containing two bunk beds with double beds on the bottom. The couch on the first floor is also a convertible bed. The Master Bedroom and the main floor family room both have flat screen LCD TVs hooked up to Direct TV satellite with hundreds of channels.

The hot tub is currently being replaced by a new state of the art tub with 6 jet packs and will be fully installed by no later than Thanksgiving, so be the first to use the hot tub and book your Thanksgiving or Christmas vacations now.

A Perfect Getaway!!!

The cabin was perfect for our famly of 10. The different levels of living gave us an opportunity to have our own space, and yet we had enough room in the dining-family room area to be together for meals and fun. The hot tub was an added treat for relaxing and the surrounding forest gave us seclusion from the outside world. We were so comfortable we hated to have the weekend come to an end. Breckenridge was so close, it was fun to go watch the fireworks display on the 4th, partake in the festivites of the holiday and then return to our private retreat. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and hope we can stay again in the future.

We’ve stayed at the property multiple times over the last few years. We absolutely love it! We are a family of 4 with two small boys; the house safely accommodates our boys with plenty of toys and activities to entertain them. We found the house quite comfortable with humidifiers for each bedroom, thermostats on each floor and the cozy fireplace in the living room. We also love all of the amenities in the kitchen. As much as we’d like to eat out at the great restaurants in Breckenridge every night, we choose not to with little boys. The kitchen is equipped with all the cookware, utensils, spices and serving pieces we need for our family and when we’ve entertained friends at the home. We’ve met the caretakers on occasion; they are wonderful people that have answered any questions we’ve had about things to do in the area or the house. The driveway and entryways are always shoveled when it snows and we’ve always found the house spotless. It’s a beautiful place! We highly recommend it!

Disappointed

When we arrived at 10pm the cabin was still dirty from the previous visitors. There were wet towels and dirty linens all over the house. We had to wash loads of towels and sheets before we could go to bed or shower. The owner apparently failed to inform the caretakers that we were coming. To top it all off, the heat was not working, which was very uncomfortable with the -2 degree weather outside. I left the owner a message immediately and never heard back from him. We received a call from the caretaker the next morning at 6:30a saying that she was going to have someone come take a look at the heater. Our entire first day at the cabin was spent dealing with the heating company. This created a less than relaxing experience. Don't stay here.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately our caretakers had written down the incorrect arrival date (they had written down the following date). In addition the heater did malfunction sometime during the night of our guests arrival. However, our guests never called the caretakers (who live across the street and could have provided additional clean linens and towels and called the heating company that night) or myself. In the morning when our caretakers saw cars in the driveway they immediately called and offered to finish cleaning the house and that's when they found out the heat was not working. They immediately contacted the heating company who came out repaired the heater the same day. They also started a fire in the woodstove to heat up the house faster and called me to inform of the situation. I made a partial refund of the rent to compensate our guests for the inconvenience on the first night. The malfunction in the heater has been fully repaired and additional reminders have been instituted to ensure that the house is cleaned and ready at the time of the arrival of new guests. This was an unfortunate circumstance that could have been mitigated with a couple of quick phone calls to either the caretakers or myself. The comfort of our guests are very important to us and we make every effort to ensure that they enjoy their stay at our house.
