My fiance and I came here for a pre-Valentine's Day/B-day weekend celebration. We wanted a place to stay that was close to the slopes and one which offered all the "modern" amenities similar to our own lifestyle and a place where we could relax and be comfortable in after a long day of skiing. We could not have been more lucky to have found this cabin. This beautiful, cozy, rustic cabin has everything you could ever imagine and need...utensils, dishware, pots/pans, foil, spices, spatulas, measuring cups...everything you would need to cook a delicious meal and dessert. There is also a computer/internet and nintendo with games if you have children. But the most charming thing was that everything matches! Plates, silverware, cups, microwave, coffee maker, utensils...all red! This color scheme and all the decorations lends to the wintery, snow/Xmas season effect and makes you want to just stay indoors and cozy up to the fireplace. Besides the beautiful exterior of the property, the interior is what stole my heart and made me wish I could stay here longer. The cabin is immaculate and well-maintained. I felt as comfortable there as I do in my own home.
The cabin is located extremely close to the grocery store as well as both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit Resorts, which was ideal for us as snowboarding/skiing was part of our agenda. There is a shuttle within a short walking distance from the cabin that will pick you up and drive you to the slopes at no charge. The slopes are so close, you can see them from the balcony and the views are incredible, especially at night when Snow Summit has it's lights on for Night Sessions. After our full day of skiing, we were exhausted and there was nothing better than coming back to this warm, cozy cabin, cooking a dinner, and just vegging out by the fireplace with a book.
I must say that this has got to be one of the best Valentine's/B-day celebrations I have ever had and this cabin was what made the trip. A truly perfect and romantic getaway.
The owner is incredibly helpful and delightful. She provides you with all the pertinent information you need including instructions on how to obtain the key, directions to the cabin, and how to use all the amenities. From the decorations in the house and the care and maintenance of property, you can tell that she loves the cabin herself and you feel it when you open the front door. I would recommend this cabin to everyone including my own friends and family.
