Boating & Water Sports::
Big Bear Lake has it all...paddle boating, pontoon boating, sailing or power boating... windsurfing, sailboarding, wake boarding waterskiing or jet skiing... canoeing or kayaking. Boats and equipment can be rented at any one of the marinas that dot the lake's 23 miles of shoreline. Marinas are open spring, summer and autumn. Located right on the lake, Meadow Park provides a swim beach area. There's also shaded picnic areas, barbecues, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, playground equipment, softball fields, and a sand volleyball court.
Wildlife::
Experience the beauty of Big Bear from a great vantage point - on horseback. You can saddle-up year-round for hourly, half-day, sunset and overnight rides and tours through National Forest areas. Your kids will also love the pony rides that are available. In addition to all the great wildlife around the lake and in the forests, Big Bear's unique Animal Park offers the whole family a delightful and educational experience. It's a great way to see majestic bison, wolves, eagles and bears and learn about our animals in their natural mountain habitat. Your wild wee ones will also enjoy the playful menagerie at The Petting Zoo. Just a short walk from our home!
The Magic Mountain Recreation Area::
The Magic Mountain Recreation Area, home of the world-famous Alpine Slide, offers Family fun activities year round. In the summer there is a cool wet water slide & in the winter there is plenty of fun snowplay for the whole family. The Alpine Slide is open all year and is So. California's only authentic bobsled experience. There are a variety of attractions at the recreation area, which include year round operations of the go-carts & an 18 hole miniature golf course. Parents can join in the fun or enjoy soaking up the sun on the spacious lawn & two sundecks. The area's double water slide operates during the summer months, taking riders down two twisting & turning flumes filled with refreshing, cool water, before dumping them with a splash into the heated pool at the bottom!
Ski:
Big Bear is home to two of Southern California's premier ski resorts, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Resort. Together they offer 75 trails, 20 lifts, four high-speed chairs, and seven snowboard parks for all levels of skill with the added bonus of majestic mountain views. Lift tickets are interchangeable. Many world-class snowboarders live right here in Big Bear because they know we offer some of the most innovative terrain parks anywhere. See the slopes from our deck!!
Golf:
With gorgeous mountain scenery as a backdrop you can enjoy a 9-hole round of golf April through November on a regulation course; Polish up your woods and sharpen your skills at the driving range; or take the whole family for a round of miniature golf that offers 18 exciting holes complete with breaking greens, water hazards and attractive landscaping.
