Located at an elevation of 4,450 feet above sea level, the historic gold mining town of Julian is located one hour east of coastal San Diego. San Diegans and out-of-town visitors enjoy its unique proximity to state, national and county parks with plentiful hiking and riding trails. The picturesque Anza Borrego Desert is situated just to the east of us. Beautiful Lake Cuyamaca, available for fishing enthusiasts, lies twenty minutes south. You can use your Julian location to take day trips to these nearby attractions throughout the year.
Situated within areas of apple orchards, Julian is well-known for its delicious apple pies, wine-tasting, sense of history, romantic surroundings, and old goldmine. The township has maintained its historic buildings, that now house good restaurants, boutiques, and old-time melodrama entertainment.
"We had a great time during our stay in Julian. The town is wonderful, and we really enjoyed your cabin (I love knotty pine!!!). Thank you so much for letting us stay here! We will definitely come back here next time we stay in the area."
My family and I had a great time at this very nice house.
Its nice and close to town. We will stay there again.
The house was lovely and actually seemed bigger than the pictures made it appear. We were pleasantly surprised that there was wifi. Some of the girls were sad they didn't have cell service, but it meant we had better girl time. I definitely want to come back (this place would be great as a romantic getaway, family time or girl's night)
The owner was very friendly and helpful. She thought of everything we might need. My only regret was that I decided not to bring something to grill on the grill outside.
If you do have trouble walking then your car better be able to go up a steep gravel driveway, otherwise you will have to walk a steep hill (not a problem for healthy people).
We begin every new year in this lovely retreat. Nada is a friendly, communicative, and gracious host. Always look forward to spending time in this awesome house and enjoying the quiet!
My friend and I loved our stay at this cabin in the trees, as did my dog. It was quiet except for the occasional bird sound. And speaking of birds, we saw several that were new to us -- Acorn Woodpecker and Cedar Waxwing (I think). The cabin is very comfortable to hang out in, with everything you need to cook, a TV that gets many channels, and wifi. My cell phone couldn't find a tower, but that's a plus, not a minus. The neighborhood is very interesting to walk around in, with spectacular views from the top of the hill.
Great! 5 minutes from Julia. Very clean and peaceful. Neighbors are very friendly.
My wife and I found out about this little gem of a cabin and fell in love with the pictures alone from this website. The day we arrive our expectations were definitely exceeded, because the charm and the “at home” feel of the cabin filled our hearts and made the start of our weekend getaway the best. The way this cabin is set up is amazing, and provides all the creature comforts of home with wifi access, satellite television, and many movies ready to watch. The cabin is nicely tucked into a quiet neighborhood that is quite easy to locate using a gps or mobile phone. During our stay we invited our family up for a barbeque and found that we had everything we needed between the charcoal grill (charcoal provided) and the stocked kitchen. We couldn’t have found a better place to stay, then this “lovely mountain retreat”. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away for a romantic weekend or a family vacation, there is plenty of room to sleep 8 and then some. The owner of this beautiful retreat is so accommodating and nice, and we look forward to coming back or checking out her other Julian cottage VRBO Listing #162788. We know that no matter where we stay, Nada will provide the best experience possible for her guests!
