Relax at this quiet, comfortable A-frame cottage surrounded by trees in a peaceful, private place known as Lorton Lake. This lovely three level cottage sleeps 6 people comfortably with 1 double bed, 4 twin-size beds and a sofa bed if needed. It features a complete kitchen and living room area that includes a wood burning fireplace stove with glass doors, a TV, DVD, VCR and CD player. There is a full bathroom on the 1st floor and a half bathroom on the 2nd floor. The newly finished 20’ x 22’ rustic game room in the basement includes a ping pong table, a Foosball table, darts, and opens to a short path that leads down to the lake. Enjoy your morning coffee or dinner on the 12’ x 20’ deck among the trees overlooking a quiet lake.

The cottage comes with a flat bottom rowboat, a canoe, and paddleboat. Gas motor boats are not allowed on this peaceful lake however, electric trolling motors are allowed.

Nearest Airport : Syracuse, NY at 55 Miles

Lorton Lake is located in the Tug Hill region which is 55 minutes northeast of Syracuse and just 20 minutes east of Pulaski. The Salmon River is 6 miles away and offers world class salmon fishing in the fall. Enjoy a hike and the beauty of the Salmon River Falls (about 6 miles away) or perhaps visit the Salmon River hatchery nearby. Take a scenic drive to Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay (1 hour) or perhaps spend the day white water rafting on the Black River (1 hour – limited season). There are two nearby golf courses: The Pines located in Pulaski and The Elms located in Sandy Creek. Destiny Mall in Syracuse is less than an hour away.

Notes

  • $600 to $900 per week.
  • The rental rates listed are for up to 4 or 5 people depending on the time of the season. An additional fee will apply if more than 5 (maximum of 6 people with small children). Specific quotes will be given at time of inquiry. A $100 deposit is required within 7 days to hold reservations. The balance is required 30 days prior to the check in date. A damage deposit of $100 is also required 30 days prior to the check in date and will be refunded within 7 days of departure providing that there is no damage done to the property, furnishings, or equipment. If there is a need to cancel, the rental deposit will be returned providing that the cottage can be re-rented.

    April 1st to June 28th, 2013: Weekly $600+, Weekend $300 (non peak).
    June 29th to September 2nd 2013: Weekly $900. (peak season -minimum 7 day rental).
    September 3rd to October 20th, 2013: Weekly $700, Weekend $350 (non peak).
    Two day weekends are available during non-peak months only. Each additional night is $100

AMAZING and MAGICAL PLACE!!!!

Pictures do this BEAUTIFUL property NO JUSTICE, it is truly a quiet peaceful haven from the chaos of everyday life!!! We were soooooooooooo happy the moment we arrived till the moment we left. The house is imaculate - clean to every single corner. The owner puts his heart and soul into giving you the best HOMEAWAY has to offer. I have been using HOMEAWAY for over 10 years, and this ranks up there with one of the nicest places i have rented, this and an amazing home in St. John, USVI - THAT is how nice it is. You have a huge deck overlooking the water, every morning we had coffee and read to the silence over the lake. you are just able to get back to a sane place at this cottage - i think i should come here every few months just to settle my soul. We had 3 small kids in our group who also loved the place. The game room is big and fun for all, including adults. We spent very little money, making this a perfect budget vacation as well, as the kitchen is well stocked and we really just wanted to relax. There is a small beach a couple hundered feet from the home where the kids LOVED to swim and play. it was great for the adults too. The dock off of the house is wonderful, my 9 year old caught his first fish there, one a big bass that we happily enjoyed for dinner. Thank you SO MUCH Frank and Lori for a vacation i will remember and cherish. CANNOT WAIT to come back!

This place is everything it says and more. We love Lorton Lake and are looking forward to returning for our 4th time!! It’s a wonderful escape from the craziness we all call life. The cottage is spacious, welcoming and packed with amenities. The game room is an added bonus too. The deck is large and very inviting nestled in the trees with the rays of sunshine peeking thru. There are always birds and squirrels to keep your attention. The peace and serenity of this lake is something you don’t come across every day. The lake offers some challenging fishing at times for the beginner and the seasoned fisherman as well. We have one of each! We enjoy coffee on the deck or at the water’s edge in the morning and usually spend most of our day out on the water whether it be fishing, paddleboating or sunbathing. Our evenings are usually spent cooking dinner on the grill and at the water’s edge around the campfire. The sunsets are beautiful and the colors glisten across the water. We also enjoy walks around the lake and often stop along the way to purchase the local vegetables and flowers for our stay. The owners, Frank and Lori are wonderful people. They are very helpful and full of knowledge of the area. There are many things to do within a short distance, but we enjoy this property so much we usually just stay put except to go out for an occasional dinner or do some shopping. My 20 year old daughter loves it too. We can’t even think about taking our vacation at Lorton Lake without her tagging along for the week or for a few days!!! I guess the only thing left to say is that you will not be disappointed.

We had a great time,the house was exactly what we expected and wanted. The game room was great on rainy days, the lake was peaceful and the kids enjoyed the fishing and boats! The owners seemed like very nice people and they were helpful with fishing tips for my son.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

What a great week

My family and I rented this cabin for a week and it was fantastic. If you are looking for a peaceful setting in a friendly environment then this is the place for you. We canoed every day and enjoyed relaxing and watching the sunset every night. The game room was great for the kids when the weather wasn't the best. We made it up to Salmon River Falls which was also very nice and less than 10 minutes from the cabin. Happy Valley is also close by which is a 98,000 acre park with miles of trails for bikes, ATV's, hiking, great for any one looking for activity while you are there. I highly recommend this cabin!
