Enjoy the comforts of a well-maintained “vintage Cape Cod” cottage located in a lovely setting on a salt marsh and Pleasant Bay - a quiet spot for adults, a safe place for children. The house sits off a country road on a large, grassy property that overlooks a scene you won't tire of - meadow greens, ocean blues, and color bursts from the many creatures the marsh attracts. You'll have access to a shared private beach on the bay, just a short walk down a path edged with native plants and filled with the chatter of birds. A boardwalk gets you to a sandy beach and wonderful Pleasant Bay, with its islands and gentle blue water. The bay offers many areas worth exploring in a canoe or kayak - bring your own and you can carry it to the beach or drive it to the nearby town landing. If you enjoy sailing or fishing, you can moor your boat off the beach for a small fee. Enjoy your morning coffee on the bench at the beach, take a refreshing swim, or get lost in a book back at the cottage.

Location: Cape Cod < Massachusetts < USA

The cottage resides in South Orleans on the 'elbow' of Cape Cod. It's about a 10-minute drive to Nauset Beach on the Atlantic Ocean (great surf, swimming, and miles of sandy beach to walk) and Skaket Beach on Cape Cod Bay (gentle water perfect for small children). Orleans has many fine restaurants and shopping, as does Chatham, which is about 15 minutes away. Rock Harbor offers chartered fishing trips. You can rent sailboats and kayaks at the Town Cove, or take sailing lessons right on Pleasant Bay. Nearby Brewster offers a 1st class public golf course and the Cape Cod Natural History Museum. Wellfleet, about 20 minutes away, has a wonderful Audubon Sanctuary, other nature trails, and good beach walks. About 40 minutes away is Provincetown, where you can enjoy whale watching, beach walking, shopping, and dining. The bike trail, which runs from Dennis to Wellfleet, is easily accessible from the cottage and great fun for all ages. Bike rentals are available in many locations.
