This charming, 1920s farmhouse was renovated in 2004, with careful attention paid to its many excellent features that had been neglected for decades. While respecting its historic details such as plaster walls with coffered ceilings and restoring original hardware and windows, modern amenities were added such as central heat and air conditioning and two new bathrooms. Its setting on a hilltop among century-old oaks is less than three miles from downtown but feels a world away. The owners live in an attached residence that is oriented to maintain privacy for both guests and themselves, and additional outbuildings on the one-and-one-half acre site recall a long-gone era. Come experience for yourself this little piece of paradise!

We spent three wonderful days at this perfect little guesthouse. The location is perfect for great restaraunts and getting just about anywhere in Austin. The furnishings were tasteful with great artistic touches. The kitchen was well equipped for enjoying anything from coffee to a gourmet meal. Great deck for reading the paper or just relaxing.

As relaxed, natural, cool and charming as Austin

We loved our stay at this property! This home is tucked away - very private, with wonderful views of trees, and a barn, etc. Gets good natural light. Such a laid back vibe. This is particularly a good spot to stay if you know your way around Austin (as we did), b/c you'll need a car to get to the main attractions from here, though it will only be a couple minutes drive. We brought our 1 year old daughter and the owner was so nice to even loan us some toys and such. It was so much better than being in a hotel, because here we had access to laundry machines, and a kitchen, and could have our daughter nap and sleep in a separate bedroom from ours. Oh - how can I forget the fantastic porch?! What a great place to chill out and have a snack or a drink or read the paper. This property was a real gem, and I would love to go back someday. Hell, I'd buy the place if I could afford it!
