I always loved vacationing in New Mexico. For over 15 years i spent one of my vacations exploring this beautiful state. It has so much to offer.

Shelley Goldman purchased this condo in 2007

For many years I dreamed of owning a property in New Mexico. Of all the beautiful places I visited in New Mexico, I chose the Tesuque, Santa Fe location. I stayed in this condo on one of my vacations as a rental. I found out is was for sale. Something felt right to me. Maybe it was the rainbow that I saw from my front patio my last day there. The location was perfect - close to Santa Fe but not in Santa Fe. I could take advantage of everything Santa Fe had to offer but also enjoy the quiet an beauty of the landscape. I made an offer two weeks after my return to my life in New York. It took a couple of months but soon enough it was mine!

Location. location, location and nice pool!

WHAT A FABULOUS PLACE TO STAY A WEEK!

  • 5 of 5
My three sisters and I and our nephew could not have been more comfortable here at Shelly's condo. This is a very nicely kept, clean, and amazingly well supplied place to stay that is convenient to everything you want to see in Santa Fe and surrounding areas. We really needed only to bring ourselves and food and drink! I loved the layout with open living room and terrific views and the kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, utensils, pots and pans and storage containers you could possibly want to cook and store leftovers. The linens were very nice, and the beds were so comfortable! The neighboring hills with little trails were fun to hike, and the pool was so refreshing and clean! Barbeque grill, patio furniture outside, and flatscreen TV and comfy living room seating inside made our evenings after exhausting days of shopping and sightseeing a pleasure to come "home" to. And this place really did become our home away from home for a week we will not forget. Thank you, Shelly for making our vacation so enjoyable!

CLOSE TO SANTA FE, YET HAS A COUNTRY FEEL.

  • 5 of 5
Our Stay in Shelley’s Condo was excellent, the Location was close to Santa Fe, yet had the feel of the country side. The condo was supplied with everything you could need, all you have to worry about is food and personal items, she really thought of everything. We enjoyed going to Santa Fe in the day and the evenings were enjoyed sitting in the cool air looking at the incredible star lit sky. One afternoon there was a brief rain and afterwards there was the most brilliant Rainbow any of us had ever witnessed, it was just incredible .One day we even drove to Taos taking the scenic route, what fantastic mountain views on the way. Great Place, Thanks Shelley

BEST PLACE TO STAY NEAR SANTA FE!

  • 5 of 5
This condo is not only in the best location near Santa Fe (in the small village of Tesuque), but it is quiet and comfortable! This was our first trip to the southwest and more specifically New Mexico. Couldn't have been more perfect! There are beautiful views surrounding the property in every direction, great little hiking spots and a very nice pool (which we only found time to use once). The condo itself has a newly remodeled kitchen which we used to prepare several meals while we were there. It also has a nice gas grill and patio furniture for cooking and dining outdoors (which we did exclusively!). If your not into cooking, downtown Santa Fe is a short 10 minute drive away. Even closer is the Tesuque Village Market which is a really cool place to eat with great food. We were told that Robert Redford, who owns property nearby, is a frequent patron. If you're into the outdoors and amazing scenery, then Tent Rock National Monument and Bandolier National Monument (Pueblo cliff dwellings), are not to be missed. I would also suggest taking a day trip to Taos, on the aptly named high road to Taos. Awesome drive with amazing views along the way. Be sure to visit the Pueblo village while in Taos, its something to see! For horseback riding, I must recommend Broken Saddle Riding Company in Cerillos. We did a sunset ride through the hills and learned some cool history about the area from our guide and owner Harold, who is a really cool guy. Last but not least is the town of Santa Fe itself. A lot of great art galleries, shops and restaurants to choose from. Just be prepared for a tourist trap feel in the plaza square area. I would also like to mention that our host, Shelley, was a pleasure to work with and we will surely call on her again when we return to Santa Fe.

THIRD VISIT AND COUNTING!

  • 5 of 5
In the last six years I have visited Santa Fe five times. I've stayed at Shelley's on three of the trips. It seems like home now! I stay elsewhere only if Shelly's is booked when Seattle rain gets to me. nThis time I stayed 15 nights and unwound thoroughly with my cousins from Atlanta. They are hooked!

What's great about Shelly' condo? Here is what i have learned. It is convenient to all the north central New Mexico travel spots. It is quiet and away from city lights so you will see stars and constellations with the bare eye. Breathtaking. The Tesuque Flea Market is exceptional. I even got beautiful hand made rugs and had them shipped home. Price was right! Time your trip to go to the Santa Fe Opera...you can see it from the condo. There is a new kitchen in the condo that made us stay home and cook dinners that we ate under the stars in warm breezes. WiFi and at the pool, too! The pool is a joy. I am in it within 15 minutes of arrival. You've never been to a spa until you go to Ten Thousand Waves. Get the wood-fired oven pizza at the Tesuque Market. Catch a glass blowing exhibit at the studio in Tesuque. We did two days on Canyon Road and got several 'masters classes'. Gallery owners are very friendly and pleased to share even if you are not a buyer. Recollections is the mother of all furniture and design consignment stores. Yes, they ship, too. Buy the museum pass; an exceptional museum town. Do not pass up Ojo Caliente spa. The hot springs and pools are perfect mid-afternoon if you go to Georgia O'Keefe's Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu earlier in the day. Maria's for the best Mexican food in SF. Day trip to the Santaurio de Cimayo and lunch at Rancho de Chimayo. Best lunch in SF is at La Fonda restaurant...not the buffet in the bar. The French bakery in Burro Alley...almond croissants worth the trip. Pecos Nat'l Monument on the road to Las Vegas. Bandolier Nat'l Monument. Do the ski mountain, take pix and hike. Get jewelry on the Plaza at the Palace of the Governors and Sissels. Food at the smaller spots in town can beat out the elite spots. If you have time go to Chaco Canyon. It is a Nat'l Park and an historic treasure. Don't be put off by the last stretch of undeveloped road. Take a class at the Santa Fe School of Cooking! Eat and learn!

Lastly, the condo has great property management. Things are always in fine shape. The staff is great and the other owners are very friendly. What Shelley promises, she delivers.

GREAT LOCATION WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED!

  • 5 of 5
I really did my homework before booking a condo and I finally decided to stay in this condo for 8 days in June. All I can say is this is the only way to go when visiting Santa Fe and areas near by.

The condo is furnished with everything you could ever need during your stay, all you need to bring is your clothes and a few groceries, and you're all set.

The condo is an easy 12 minutes to the plaza, but with the tranquility and the feel of being in your own little deserted community away from the city noise.

All of Shelley's suggestions were dead on our second night we tried Tesuque village restaurant where me met the friendly locals whom also took the time to recommend lots of other great spots to visit. Another must do is eating at the hotel bar across the street , great food with an unforgettable sunset.

I highly recommend Bandelier national monument and tent rock as must visit places. A great sunset horseback riding experience in cerrilios with Harrold from Broken Saddles is another sure hit, I had never been on a horse before and I thought it was one the best things I did on this vacation.

Take the time to look-up at the night sky , being away from the city you will not believe how beautiful the star filled sky looks,

Overall this condo is in a great location with all the amenities you need. Communication with Shelley was very easy which made the booking process painless.

Owner's Response: Donald
I am always happy to hear that my guests enjoyed themselves while staying at my condo. My whole approach is that guests should feel comfortable and enjoy the space as much as I do. All improvements and purchases that I made on this basis alone. Of course the landscape in the area does not need my help as you now know, it is spectacular.

I know this vacation was something that you were looking forward to and we had many conversations while waiting for you leave from work to get approved. It sounds like the wait was worth it.

Thanks so much for this review and I hope you will return some day. I am sure that you could fill at least half a dozen more eight day stays with new and interesting things to see and do.

Shelley
