Moody is a small oceanfront community located on the Southeast coast of Maine. It is located between Ogunquit and Kennebunk. Moody Beach is a private 2 mile sandy beach. Beach access is limited to oceanfront property owners. Local attractions include: Summer stock theater, artist galleries, music, gourmet dining, outlet shopping, golf, antiquing, hiking, deep sea fishing, bird watching, blueberry picking, sailing, and national parks (Acadia & Rachel Carson Reserve) are just a short drive away. The Marginal Way is an oceanfront walking trail that weaves through the beautiful rocky coast of Maine ending in Perkins Cove, a quaint fishing village. Nearby major cities include Portsmouth (25 minutes), Portland (35 minutes), Freeport (45 minutes), and Boston (70-90 minutes). Enjoy local activities or relax, and enjoy the serenity of your private beach.

This house was exactly what our family was looking for. The price was right, on the beach, cozy and with a little of that cottage feel of my memories of Maine as a child. It was nice and clean and warmly decorated. Having the nice deck on the second floor was great to view the ocean.

Almost too good to be true

It's not really in my best interest to write a review here because my family and I expect to return here year after year, we hope, and we'd like the place to be available for us! The house is very clean, the photos represent the interior well. You can hear the ocean from the deck, and if the windows are open, inside the house. The kitchen is well stocked, and the setting is just perfect. Many comforts of home including a big TV, DVD player and wireless Internet access. We spent comfortable time lounging upstairs in the living area, as well as downstairs off of the kitchen. And then there's the beach, literally, about 35 steps on the foot path! Clear, clean and cool(!) Maine coastal waters.
