Guestbook comments from the owner
Have always enjoyed their stay at McNeil cottage. Third year in a row & just booked another week for 2004.
I (Randy) am an audio & lighting production contractor/engineer and my wife (Sheila) is a family services site coodinator in Traverse City, Michigan. The cottage has been in the family since the mid seventies and we aquired it in 1995. Since then our family has enjoyed and so much looked forward to our time spent at the McNeil Cottage each and every year, and urge anyone looking for a relaxing, unplugged vacation on one of the most beautiful lakes in Michigan to try Lake Leelanau and the McNeil Cottage.
If you enjoy a relaxing, unplugged (no cable, no phone, no internet) vacation where the days become yours and a midnight swim or breakfast at the waters edge or enjoying a romantic, captivating fire under a star-lit sky warms your heart, then you're here.
The lake is large, beautiful and supports all water related activities. The sunsets are to die for and the ambience is 'On Golden Pond'. Due partly to the fact that we are unplugged and that natures wonders surround us, it is much like taking a step backwards in time, shedding the stresses of todays world and simply finding joy in watching a family of Swans meandering about or a crayfish playing hide & seek at the waters edge or losing yourself in a good book while the sunset dances on your face. It is truely a world away from the hustle bustle, fast paced world in which we live. It is a place that we love!
