David Lortie knows lots of secret places and stories to go with them. My favorite is a place I think of as Shangri La. It's one of the most incredibly beautiful mountain settings, impecably landscaped, award winning architecture and cuisine to match. The only catch was getting there.
David straddled a railroad tie bridge bumping along at 10miles per hour.
He clutched the steering wheel both hands, white knuckled, not speaking except to explain what was in the water below. My husband said," we're from Florida, no big deal about alligators". David gave us the name of some kind of flesh eating creatures that lived in the shadow of the so called bridge.
Not piranhas, but something like that, maybe bigger. Yes, it was worth the risk.
When you rent a place, make sure you know the owner, it makes all the difference! What a perfect Host!!!!
We're coming back, hopefully to buy a place, tapping into Davids suberb secret knowledge and personality.
