Kaneohe Vacation Rental house

Aloha!! This was our second stay at this beautiful home (first time was about two years ago) and we enjoyed this trip even better than the last. We didn't think that would be possible to top the first trip since it was our first time on Oahu, but we really love this home and this town of Kaneohe. Kaneohe is on the windward side of the island so you can open all the vents on the front of the house and let the trade winds blow through. The home is only a few blocks down the hill from the Windward Mall, grocery stores, etc. but you cannot hear a peep from any of it. Waikiki is just to crowded. We would never consider a hotel on this island again. After all, we did come here to relax.

The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are nicer than we have at home. Down feather couches in the den, huge flat panel TV, (can't miss football) and fully functional kitchen are all well above what you would expect from rental. Bottom line, it is obvious that this is someones home and not just another rental. We know, we have owned a number of rental properties and we would never put this much quality in any of them. Double ovens in a rental? We've never seen it. They could get $600/night based on the other places we've seen.

The Deck. Wow! The best part of the whole house. It covers the entire roof of the double garage, not a six foot porch like others. We could sit out there and relax for hours. The water changes color all day based on passing clouds and tides. Blues and Greens, Absolutely Spectacular!

Lastly, we love history and love to go see the places where events took place, which is why we first came to Oahu, to see Pearl Harbor. When standing on the deck and looking out across Kaneohe Bay, you are looking toward the Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps Base. You will see various aircraft landing on the exact runway where the very first bombs were dropped by the Japanese on December 7, 1941, several minutes before Pearl Harbor. Also, the homes previous owner was an Air Force Colonel who was highly decorated in WWII, including for sinking a Japanese Cruiser all by himself. He and a wingman were flying over a hill and unexpectedly came down on the cruiser which opened fire on them. They decided if they pulled up they would be shot down for sure, so they held down the trigger and flew the suicide mission directly at the Cruiser. Somehow, he was not hit and he sank the ship. His wingman was killed. I know that doesn't have much to do with renting a vacation home but I means something to me and wanted to share it.

You will always remember a trip to Oahu and you wont find a better place from which to create those memories. We are planning a third trip to bring friends and we will be coming here again. Mahalo.

We loved the house. very spacious and big kitchen and laundry room. perfect location for us as nephew was on marine base. more than enough room for 8 people. stores within walking distance and close to highways. although pics look like house is on the bay it is actually across the street, but view was still spectacular. very homey and comfortable. would go back again.

Aloha!! This home was truly amazing. Our daughter got married on Wiamanalo Beach and our family stayed in this home for one week (wish it could have been longer!). The home was even better than anything we could ever have imagined. We had the rehearsal party at the home and everyone was in awe of the deck, gorgeous views and such gracious furnishings. I think some were envious that they had booked a hotel room instead!! What can I say about the beds?? The most comfortable we have ever slept on - those 1,000 count sheets were wonderful. Now my husband wants to go out and buy some!! Having stayed in many travel homes (vs. hotels), this by far, was the nicest we have encountered. Gary was so helpful with his recommendations of restaurants for the wedding etc. Everything was handled quickly, efficiently and professionaly and everything that is stated on this site about the home is absolutely accurate and true to form.
