Amazing Week!

This was our first time renting a house vs staying at a hotel. Hands down, it is a highly underrated experience. This was the perfect home - they've set a high standard.
The furnishings were comfortable, stylish, and the decor simply perfect for our island vacation. The kitchen was stocked much like my own at home. The rooms had plenty of storage space for clothing, beach towels, etc.
If ocean is what you want, this house provides fabulous views from a screened porch off the master bedroom and from the surrounding outdoor deck and patio area. The house is a short walk (with a boardwalk over the dunes) to the beach. An outdoor shower and sink in the garage makes for easy sand clean up before heading into the house.
I've never felt so relaxed on a vacation. The privacy of renting vs hotel made such a big difference for us. We enjoyed tons of space: three seperate bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, laundry, dining and living room all for the price of what it would cost to rent at an acceptable hotel and we didn't have to constantly lug the family through a lobby and up elevators to a small room! Our little dog loved the house and enjoyed the screened porch so much. It was a pet friendly-no worries home.
From the beginning, we felt we were dealing with honest people of high character. Communication with the owners was easy and questions were answered timely. The contract was very detailed and expectations for both parties clearly explained.
We enjoyed beach days, and several excursions (shelling and kayaking) with Journeys on 3rd. They provided a top notch experience!!! The state park (just down the road from the house) was beautiful and provided some great hiking. We ate at three local restaurants as well as grilled at the house. Lastly, we really enjoyed visiting the quaint town of Appalachicola for fun exploring and shopping.
With two teen boys and a 7 year old girl, it's often difficult to find a vacation to everyones liking. This house and St George Island made that easy!! Our family time each night was so special. We'd brought our own games but were pleasantly surprised to find the house stocked with games and puzzles and books as well.
It seems the the owners of Casa Blanca have thought of everything! From reservations to packing up, this was a fabulous experience and I can't wait to enjoy this house again. I highly recommend this home!
Owner's Response: Casa Blanca is our second home that our family has enjoyed for over 20 years. We love St. George Island, with the beautiful beaches and plenty of fishing, kayaking, hiking in the State Park, all kinds of things to do with your family.
We try to make Casa Blanca a very special place to stay while vacationing with family and friends on the island.
