RUSTIC & ELEGANT MOUNTAIN RESORT

The place was lovely on most accounts and the description was accurate (except in one of the photos there is a TV, but we did not see one there). The view of the park from the bedroom is beautiful, the grounds are nice, the decor is lovely. The place was very clean, stocked with towels and soap and some dishes, and the staff was really excellent. Food at the bistro was delicious and the huckleberry margharitas were perfect.

However, I would also like to note the train going by many times during the night, the helicopter rides starting at 8am and the traffic on the highway.

In addition, we would have liked to have been told that there are in fact other events that happen apart from the bistro being open on the weekends. I would not recommend planning to hang out there during the day unless you ask the manager if anything else is going on.

I would recomend this place to a friend, but NOT for a romantic getaway (especially a honeymoon), as the bedroom window overlooks the patio and there is a potential for weddings to occur in this space without advance notice.

There are plenty of activities nearby- whitewater rafting, canoeing, fishing, shopping, helicopter rides (strongly recommend!!), and of course hiking. The park is really easy to get to and the whole area is beautiful.

I do want to stress though, that Trudi and Ron and the restaurant staff really are friendly and accomodating, but again if you want to know what is going to happen during your stay, you need to ask.

This rental was the top floor of what seemed to be a big log cabin home. the space has a good view and has everything you need. There is a fully equipped kitchen and seating area. The restaurant downstairs has great food. Seems that half of the family decided to go on a fishing trip leaving the rest of the family to suffer through dinner service. We felt bad for them because they were having to work so hard but the food was great and the staff is friendly. The west entrance to the park is only 5minutes away and it was such a great place to stay for the price. When you find that everything in the park is booked up, book this place! And their restaurant is only open thurs-sunday so if you need another great place to eat the Glacier Grill has the best pizza!

We just stayed at The Peak and LOVED IT! The owner and Manager could not have been more accommodating! The loft apartment was beautiful decor and the view from either side was tremendous. I actually didn't mind the trains going by. They are across the street and once I got used to the frequency, it was actually kind of soothing. We ate dinner at the restaurant one of the nights we were there and the food was outstanding. The evening breezes, the morning sunrise pouring in the window and the sound of all the birds....well, need I say more?
