The Flamingo area, a short 10 minute drive from the house, is where many tourist activities are found. These include deep-sea fishing, diving, horseback riding, ATV tours, canopy tours and beach combing. Also, there are popular day trips such as river tours, volcanoes with mud baths, bird watching or going to a local Costa Rican town such as Liberia or Santa Cruz to view the culture. Tamarindo and Playa Grande, both a 30 minute drive, are known for surfing. Tamarindo and Coco with more hustle and bustle have night life and shopping. There are several golf courses available within a short driving distance.

A view worth the drive

My family of 6 had an incredible time at Casa Crystal Waters. This beautifully decorated home overlooks Playa Flamingo/Potrero. We spent our days touring the Guanacaste area and our nights lounging by the pool.

Everday we had breakfast by the pool (if Marta is available line her up for preparing breakfast) while our kids searched for the howler monkies in the nearby trees.

You must try the new Lolas on Sugar Beach Rd (just north from Potrero). Gorgeous beachside dining on a secluded bay, safe for swiming.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
