Jump off the floating dock, paddle in the canoe or paddle boat, or fish the waters stocked with bass and trout. Wake up looking at the beautiful water view from the large master bedroom. Watch the sunset or the kids playing in the water from the large deck. You're right on the water--no toting beach bags! Cook with herbs from the herb garden. Go apple picking, mini golfing, take a hayride or go for a hike or drive. Lounge in the hammock. Great swimming in the clean spring-fed, 1/2 mile long pond with your own private sandy beach. (No wading through weeds.) Water stays warm from mid-May into early fall. Private wooded setting, but easy access: you can make your stay as quiet or activity-packed as you like. Dishwasher & washer/dryer to make things easy. The cottage is a great place for kids ages 3 and up as well as for couples. We've got books, games and a great spot for daydreaming. We thought of the details to make your stay just right. Start relaxing!

When you’re not swimming, canoeing or lounging…visit the local smoke shack for country smoked bacon, get fresh corn from one of the farm stands, buy maple syrup from a sugar shack or pick apples. See how the Shakers lived at Canterbury Shaker Village, just a few miles away. Take in a race at the NH International Speedway (NASCAR). The antiquing’s great! Route 4's Antique Alley is just minutes away and boasts dozens of shops. Within 20 minutes is hiking, 3-5 golf courses, a driving range, mini golf, batting cages, tennis, bowling, movies, restaurants and several good grocery stores. At the southern tip of the lakes region, the cottage is within 30 min. of the White Mountains, Currier Gallery of Art, outlet shopping and much more. 15 min. from Concord, NH, An ideal location: 1-1/2 hours from Boston and 5 hours from NYC. Fall foliage season is just beautiful. A walk in the woods or a drive is great therapy for a hectic life. In spring, canoing, fishing, wildflowers, swimming, antiquing+.

  • $1600 rent for fall and spring NASCAR (can arrange Sun. night stay to avoid traffic). 3 night NASCAR weekend is $950. Security deposit for 6/13-30 and 9/7-13 is $500. No house parties allowed.

The location of this cottage is perfect. The master bedroom overlooks a pond & the folliage view across it is spectacular. The cottage is very nice, clean & spacious. The kids enjoyed the sandy swimming area & rides in the pedal boat.

Shangri-la for Avoiding the Crowds

There's one word that can sum up this cozy getaway: easygoing. The stress just melts away as soon as you unpack in the spacious master bedroom overlooking the lake. Watching the sun set while grilling and eating on the back deck, reflections of the clouds and trees shimmering in the water, is an added enhancement. As avid swimmers and canoers, we didn't venture anywhere else during our week's stay and were never bored. The clear lake is not too big, not too small, but just right (about a half mile long and one to two tenths of a mile wide). During the weekdays we had the lake completely to ourselves. Only on the weekends did others arrive: one or two fishermen out for the lake's noted trout, a lone kayaker, and a few kids on floats (and this was at the height of the summer season). It was heaven not to have to contend with noisy jet skis.

The property was just as described. The grounds were blooming with hostas and day lilies when we arrived. The small bathroom on the first floor is a bit of a squeeze, but no matter as there was plenty of water outside to delight in. Star lovers can take the paddle boat out on the lake on a clear night and drink in a tremendous view of the celestial sky.

Excellent stay

This is our second year staying here. The cottage is a great location. We traveled 45 minutes to Clarks Trading post and 15 minutes to the outlets. The cottage is clean and quiet. We love to wake up in the morning and take out the paddle boat with our cup of coffee. We are going back next year.

Tranquil Country Comforts Meet Modern Conveniences

We couldn't have chosen a more ideal vacation retreat. The cozy cottage provided everything we needed; and it was clean, comfortable and charmingly decorated. What a treat to have our own sandy beach right out the back door. And the stunning sunsets off the back deck made grilling for the family a pleasure! The secluded setting gave us the sense that we were away from it all; yet a bunch of great shopping options, attractions and activities were just a short drive away. Our daughters (ages 6 &4) want to know when we're going back!
