Fishing:
Cape Pogue and its surrounding shorelines and barrier beaches are a prime saltwater fishing area for surf casters and fly fishermen alike. Our location puts the angler right in the heart of the most productive shores of eastern Martha's Vineyard.
Great Family Spot:
With easy access to the shallow waters of Cape Pogue Pond and Shear Pen Pond, as well as to the pristine, uncrowded East Beach and the Cape Pogue Elbow beach, our house is a perfect home base for sunning, bathing, and boating activities, as well as fishing, clamming and beach combing. Wonderful for young children whose parents value beachside activities.
Unique Location:
Our house is one of just eight summer homes in a 100+ acre portion of Chappaquiddick on Martha's Vineyard. If you are looking for a spot to re-charge your batteries, away from the crowded streets and usual tourist attractions in the Island's towns, in a peaceful, back-to-nature setting (we are surrounded by conservation land), then this might be what you are looking for! You must have a four-wheel drive vehicle (not the same as all-wheel-drive - AWD), because access to Cape Pogue is over a three-mile extraordinarily scenic drive from Dyke Bridge over rolling sand dunes (habitat for ospreys, oyster catchers, herons, egrets and more).
Other Activities:
Kayaking; shellfishing; stargazing; kiteboarding
