Has It All

We have been vacationing every fall in Montauk since 1984, always staying by the harbor for the spectacular sunsets. We have rented many homes, this is the best by far! Sitting in the adirondack chairs with the lake at your feet, a glass of wine and watching the sun set was heavenly.
The house is so much larger than it seems in pictures. Whether eating in the kitchen, dining room or on the deck, the water is in view. The kitchen is so well stocked we entertained friends, easily cooking for almost 20! Even my daughter, the chef, was happy! If we wanted, which we didn't, there was even room for them to spend the night.
My family is full of athletes. The backyard was large enough to accommodate our lacrosse, frisbee, bocce and football games. Sadly, the wind made our hopes to use their kayak impossible. There is always next year. Another huge bonus is that it is so close to the marina that we brought our boat, the fishing is always great in Montauk.
Down the road is a new shop, boasting organic foods and natural products. Susan, the owner, was kind enough to lend me a book for the week, just on faith. You must stop in for the bagels and homemade soups! In the same lot is a five star restaurant facing the harbor, yes, the seafood was to die for. You can't go wrong staying here.
The house has something else we have never seen, history. There are family photo collages on the walls that we so enjoyed. Pictures that brought this house to life. Parties, barbeques, and even photos of family remodeling the house. That made it a home.
Barbara, the owner of the home, was a pleasure to deal with. We really do look forward to staying here again. Maybe we won't even wait until the fall!
