Carmel Valley Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Bungalow, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Our quiet, peaceful, and secluded guest house lies less than 1/4 mile above Bernardus Lodge. It was completely remodeled in 2006. It is spacious yet cozy for two people at 600+ square feet. It has beautiful views of Garland Ranch Regional Park and Garzas Canyon.

About Rogers

Hello! We look forward to accommodating you at our wonderful spot in Carmel Valley. Our son, Rogers helps us manage the guest house so he'll be your primary point of contact when coordinating your stay.

Rogers purchased this bungalow in 1989

Why Rogers chose Carmel Valley

Carmel Valley is known for its great climate, rustic feel, and beautiful scenery. We actually reside in the main house which sits lower on our property. There are no direct sight lines between the two houses and often times we don't even meet our guests (although we most certainly enjoy when we do). It has great southern exposure and views onto Garland Park, the eastern part of the valley, and the Santa Lucia Mountain Range.

What makes this bungalow unique

There are a quite a few nice things about the guest house. Please read the guest comments in our online guest book and view the photos as they best describe the benefits and amenities that our guest house has to offer.

We completely remodeled the guest house in 2005/06, and many guests have told us how much they like the 'feel' of the place. We've been on VRBO since late 2007 and have been excited ever since at having guests enjoy the beautiful place we call home.

A great valley getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Hawley's guest house was a perfect little place perched on the side of Carmel Valley with beautiful views. It was a great location to explore the nearby Carmel area and surroundings, but far enough from the town to be private and quiet. It contained all the essentials, and Rogers even provided extra beach towels upon request. I would definitely recommend.

Relaxing, clean, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 3 nights at the guest house and it was the perfect place for a long weekend. Very laid back, gorgeous view and comfortable/clean home. Nestled in the hills, we slept soundly and woke up refreshed with a great view to start our day. Whether you're heading to Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey or just down the street to Carmel Valley this spot makes it easy to enjoy it all. We would love to come back again :)

Great spot in Carmel Valley

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 5 nights at the guest house after being in San Fran for 5 days. It was the perfect base to explore the Monterey peninsula. Great hikes near by and Big Sur not far. We had deer in on yard most days and a great view of the valley.

The perfect small family retreat

  • 5 of 5

Arriving in darkness the previous evening we were unprepared for the view that greeted us when we woke up the following morning: The valley spread out below us in the gorgeous morning sunlight. It was breathtaking.

Overall, our stay was a pleasure in every way. The guesthouse was cosy, clean, elegantly appointed and well equipped (TV, iPod dock, Wifi, coffee maker - the owners even left an aerobed for our young son to sleep on). Our hosts were generous, warm and helpful - I can't thank them enough.

The cabin also affords easy access to local hikes in the spectacular Garland Ranch Regional Park (two minutes down the road), as well as to Carmel Valley Village (5-10 minute drive), Carmel-by-the-Sea (15 minutes) and Monterey (20 minutes). Our son particularly enjoyed our trip to the Monterey aquarium which seems to be a must-visit for kids of all ages.

On the whole it was the perfect place for a relaxing retreat, and one I hope we will be able to return to in the future.

What a view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed recently and had a lovely visit. The guest cottage is very charming, impeccably clean, and includes everything we needed in the kitchen. The deck wraps around two sides and the view is breathtaking. We were planning on going for a hike, but enjoyed the property so much we had a bottle of wine and relaxed on the deck instead. The bathroom is gorgeous and that includes a view as well. The pictures are accurate and everything was clean and in order. We would definitely stay again, although for more nights next time!

Simple pleasures

  • 5 of 5

Simple elegance! The views are unbelievably beautiful! Private... VERY tastefully decorated. We enjoyed every second. Sat on the deck and enjoyed our wine with the view. I think this place is the BEST kept secret in the valley! We had dinner at Wickets in the Bernardus lodge on the patio... wonderful. We were celebrating our 26th anniversary. We hope to return in October!
