We are your hosts. Sandy Toshiyuki and the husband Frank Soracco. Frank has lived in Venice since 1969 and I have lived here since we married in 1979. We worked at a restaurant we owned in Marina del Rey for many years. We gave up day to day management recently but we still keep our hand in a bit. However we can still make a great Martini. Our Vacation rental is a Father in Law unit, in our house, where my dad lived for 8 years until he died in 2004. After he died Frank remodeled the unit as a guest room for friends an relatives. When so few came to visit and Frank couldn't stand having an idle asset so when friends told him about VRBO, he joined up. Having HOTEL 508 next door has been a great joy for us as we have met many wonderful people from all over the world and we look forward to meeting many more.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1973
When I first moved to Southern California in 1969 to open a restaurant with my bother Peter I rented an apartment in the Venice Canals. Two years later when the landlord raise my rent to what I thought was an amount that might cover a mortgage payment I went house hunting. Venice was an almost slum back in those days and prices were cheep. Venice is now one of the hippest neighbor hoods in LA.
We live here all the time and never go on vacation for a change of climate only for a change of scenery.

We absolutely loved our stay at your home. It could not have been more comfortable & the location was perfect! It's bitter sweet heading back home, but we will without a doubt be returning to Venice & the 508! Thank you so much for everything. Have a wonderful summer.
It was everything advertised and more. I have already recommended to friends coming to LA area. Frank was very gracious and helpful.
Parking was easy. Property was clean. Hope to make it back again.
My wife and i needed a few days in the sun but did not want the hassle of car hire so short taxi ride from LAX and plenty of places to walk to were our main aim. This rental fitted our needs perfectly, it was just like home only smaller of course. Frank and Sandy's hospitality was great and we had everything we needed in the suite for our few days in the sun. We walked many miles up and down the beach and found many places to eat and drink and never once felt we needed a car. The location was nice and quiet and the bed was so comfy after a days walking we wanted to take it home with us.
We stayed at Hotel 508 for a week in April, and the location could not have been more perfect for us. Frank and Sandy were wonderful accommodating hosts, and they offered a wealth of information about the area and its history. Hotel 508 is on a quiet and safe street within walking distance to so many things. It was a very easy walk to the beach and just a block from great restaurants and shops. The apartment was extremely well equipped with anything you could need for food preparation and there were plenty of towels. The best part was the amazingly comfortable memory foam bed. It was great having access to a washer and dryer, too! The apartment could not have been more comfortable for our stay. We will certainly be back if our next travel dates are available. I give Hotel 508 an excellent rating.
My husband and I and our pup spent 5 days here in December. It is a quiet little studio that is on a residential street near all of the action in Venice Beach. We parked on the street, which was frequently congested requiring a couple of spins around the block. The owner, Frank, is very knowledgeable about Venice Beach and southern California in general and has good recommendations for dining and outdoor activities. He also greeted us upon our arrival, gave us a quick "orientation" and made himself available for questions or help with parking if needed. The logistics of reserving and checking in and out were quite painless. While we liked the location and enjoyed our stay, we found the space somewhat cluttered with unnecessary items - artificial flowers, vases, stuffed animals, etc. We appreciate the effort to make the lodging homey, but we would have preferred the space. We also found that the rooms were not quite as clean as I had expected based on the reviews, which are excellent. So perhaps we were there at an unusual time. All in all, it was a good stay considering the convenience, the price and the pet-friendly policy.
My husband, our dog and I needed a nice place for New Year's Eve away from the stress of LA and close to the Ocean. This place was perfect for us, within walking distance from everything you need. Frank was great and the studio is stunning, with all the comforts and appliances you may need, as well as a very comfortable bed. There's a great collection of DVD as well, in case you are staying in for the night, and a huge TV screen. The neighborhood is quiet as you are a few blocks away from the madness and colorful crowd of Venice boardwalk. Overall a great experience.
My friend and I stayed at Hotel 508 for 9 nights in august, and we had a wonderful time! Frank and Sandy were amazing hosts, making sure we had everything we needed at all times.
The bed is super comfy, the kitchen is well equipped and the bikes are super convenient. The apartment is a short five-minute-walk from the famous Venice Board Walk with all it has to offer. Make sure to check out Main st and Marina del Rey as well, since they're no more than about 10 min away.
We would recommend staying at Hotel 508 to anyone seeking an affordable option close to Venice, and we will definitely try to come back to visit!
Studio is a short walk to the heart of Venice Beach and an even shorter walk the the heart of Abbott Kinney Blvd. There are many good restaurants near by and a couple of very good ones as well as a hot bar scene. Abbott Kinney is a wonderful street to walk while looking at the people and shops. There are very interesting shops offering everything from home furnishings to hip clothes for both men and women. A little longer walk gets you to Santa Monica or Marina del Rey. The Venice Canals with many outstanding contemporary homes is close by.
