Five minute walk from the villa is El Pueblo shopping centre with the excellent ROPERS SUPERMARKET providing a good selection of fresh meat, fish, vegetable, fruit and much more. ROPERS CAFÉ for something to eat and drink or for “take outs” including its WELL KNOWN whole roast chicken with roast potatoes at around €7.50 (as at June’14) great with a salad for an easy lunch or dinner meal. Other local cafes/bar provides a variety of drinks, snacks and ice creams etc. You can join in the SEGWAY EXPERIENCE a unique adventure taking in breathtaking scenery & the charm of Papagayo beaches whilst riding a Segway & enjoy Lanzarote’s volcanic landscape in a fun, easy & eco-friendly way – booking at El Pueblo.

Newly Opened (Dec’13) CASA CARLOS restaurant – no need to drive 10 mins walk from villa providing excellent food with Carlos & team ensuring you have a great meal. You can also order homemade take away stone baked pizzas.

A 5 minute or so drive away (or 15-20 minute walk along the Coastal path) is the Beautiful Rubicon Marina with a large number of yachts and boats in this lovely marina. It has a bowling alley; Pitch & Putt golf; Variety of shops and duty free shopping; A mixture of restaurants and bars to while away the day or evening in a picturesque setting. Local market takes place twice a week on Wednesdays & Saturdays.

THE ISLAND: Lanzarote is a fascinating island where man and nature have created some spectacular places to visit, there are excellent roads to all parts of the island and a hire car will enable you to have an easier trip to and from the airport, as well as to discover areas that you should consider visiting. There is a manual of information in the villa that lists the main attractions together with other recommendations for places to eat and visit etc. For the GOLFERS there are two on the Island one at Costa Teguise (45 minutes away) or Puerto del Carmen (25 minutes away). You can book boat trips at the local marinas (Rubicon, Playa Blanca Port or Puerto Calero) along with glass bottom boats and submarine experience. You can catch the fast ferry (20 minutes) across to Fuerteventura from Playa Blanca port. There are a couple of Aqua parks on the Island at Playa Blanca and at Costa Teguise.

The climate, its beaches and the ever present stamp of artist Cesar Manrique make this a privileged destination. Playa Blanca is an ideal location for those people wanting a quieter holiday, but if you crave for a lively night-life, Puerto del Carmen with a selection of lively bars and nightclubs, restaurants & shops is a short drive away or the local bus service is very reliable and reasonable. At the old capital of Teguise is the famous Sunday market to spend a few of your Euros; Camel rides; Go karting; Sand buggies and cooking your lunch over the heat of the volcano at Fire Mountain in the Timafaya National Park is only a brief selection of what is on offer for you in Lanzarote.

CAR HIRE: Car hire is recommended to enable you to see what the whole of the Island has to offer at your own pace – ranging from the greener part of the Island in the North with some lovely natural white beaches for sunbathing and surfing. The vineyard region is in La Geria where you can visit various vineyards and be in a lovely place for a spot of lunch with the odd glass of wine or two. Volcanic landscapes, Fire Mountain with its heat or the underground lakes and caves with the “blind white crabs” are all worth a visit, if sunbathing and relaxing has got too much for you!. Don’t forget your camera.

Our holiday was booked at short notice. I was immediately impressed with the owners efficient and prompt communications. I realized I was dealing wit an experienced and customer focused owner. The villa and the grounds were as described and we were impressed by the comprehensive inventory in the kitchen and the availability of games, DVDs and CDs. We had everything we needed and appreciated having some cleaning materials in the cupboard as we normally get that dilemma of "do we need to go and buy..... or shall we manage?" The pool was beautifully lined and well maintained. We would be happy to return. Good information was available about contacting the local agent if we had a problem and the villa folder had lots of information about the island and the local area. Highly recommended.

The villa is really great and I can honestly say that we had the most relaxing break ever. Your villa is very homely and comfortable, like a home away from home. Its great for a romantic break for two but it is also very child friendly and family orientated.

Amazing villa

A real home from home! We have been here 6 times now and this lovely villa just keeps improving. It is beautifully maintained with a superb garden around the pool. It's lovely to stay in and eat at home in the evenings with the beautiful lights all around the pool and garden. If you want to venture out though, take a 5 minute stroll to Casa Carlos, a real gem. The food here is no more expensive than the restaurants on the seafront and yet the quality is a world apart. Try the fabulous duck in sweet and sour blueberry sauce, or the cheese in filo pastry as a starter; and the vegetable or bolognese lasagne for 7.50 euros is unbelievable value for money. Even the homemade chips are a revelation. This villa is very well situated and you can either walk to the marina along the seafront, or take a cab into Playa Blanca Village for a few euros, or take the new and efficient bus. We are already booking again for next year.... x

A real home from home - but in the sunshine!

We had a lovely holiday in Casa Cat. We were looking for a quiet family holiday with our two young children and thats exactly what we found. The villa is in a great location and is quiet and totally private. The heated swimming pool and outside space is fantastic for young children especially because of the astro turf around the pool. The villa itself is very well equipped with everything from washing machine and dish washer to DVDs, books and even a games console. The location of the villa is in a nice quiet area, with shops only a short walk. The coastal path with its scenic views is a nice place to walk, jog or cycle! We were very happy staying here and would definitely recommend it to family and friends. We hope to be lucky enough to stay again next year!
The villa was clean and well maintained and the owner was very helpful and friendly. The management company looking after the villa locally were extremely friendly and helpful too. We felt very well looked after by all.

Private Paradise

This was our second stay at Casa Cat, having really enjoyed our first stay last year. The property is in immaculate condition and is maintained to a high standard. It benefits from a really private garden as it is surrounded by a high wall, which also provides good shelter on windy days. We spend most of our time there simply sunbathing and dipping in and out of the pool. The property is located within easy reach of the local supermarket, and the surrounding area is kept clean and well maintained. There is a nice path along the coast which takes you into the Rubicon Marina which has a range of good restaurants (including Little Italy which is our favourite) and shops, which is a 25-30 minute walk from the villa. The owner provides a very good helpful service and our bookings have been handled very efficiently. I have already recommended the property to friends and clients of mine and would have no hesitation in recommending it in the future.

Perfect location - easy stroll to beaches (Papagayo) and restaurants/shops (Rubicon Marina). Well furnished, maintained and, managed villa with lovely pool in very private and sheltered garden.
Taxi rank nearby for airport transport (or for nights out) so car not necessarily required. Wanted for nothing in the villa itself, everything had full instructions and the management team visited to welcome us. surroundings very quiet. Perfect stay.

Situated on an exclusive development at Las Coloradas about a 10 minute walk from the fabulous secluded Papagayo beaches that are regarded as the best in the Canary Islands. It is located in a quiet location adjacent to a 'green zone' at the end of a short footpath away from the road. It has easy access for the disabled if required. A 5 minute drive will take you to Puerto Rubican Marina where there are waterfront bars, restaurants, shops & an excellent supermarket. Playa Dorada beach has is a lovely sheltered bay with sunbeds & umbrellas to hire & watersports. This southern coastal area boasts one of the longest promenades in Europe that extends from Papagayo, through Playa Blanca village & well past the harbour to the west. The village has variety of restaurants, bars & shops, both on the waterfront & elsewhere. There are local doctors & pharmacists as well as a Church, taxis & buses to the surrounding areas. An ideal area for a quieter holiday

Other Activities: Golf course in Costa Teguise & se at Puerto Del Carman (approx 25 min by car).

Golf: There are now 2 golf courses on the Island - The orginal one being in the North located at Costa Teguise and the newly opened one in Puerto del Carman.

OCT'10 - STOP PRESS!! The golf course near the lighthouse in Playa Blanca has been approved. Works will start this November, with an estimated 18 months for completion. This is excellent news for rentors with a new golf course, new marina and possibly a new harbour, Playa Blanca is gearing itself to be the number one tourist destination in the Canaries
