Casa La Buena Vida is a place where you can truly live the Good Life. Perfectly situated about midway on the Caribbean coast of Isla Mujeres with the beach just steps away! Large picture windows offer breathtaking views of the Caribbean, and let in the breezes that almost always blow on that side of the island. The two large bedrooms are tastefully furnished, and have queen sized beds. The kitchen offers every appliance and gadget you could desire: a full sized stove and refrigerator, plus a microwave, blender, toaster, and coffee pot. There is a dining room table that seats four. All the rooms have ceiling fans, but if needed there are air conditioners in both bedrooms. The casa is situated in the vibrant colonia called LaGloria. Tasty restaurants, convenience stores, internet cafes, video stores, and an open air market are very convenient. North beach and the downtown area are about a five minute cab ride away.

Our family of 3 (with a 2 y.o. boy) loved our stay at the Casa Buena Vida. It is a bright happy casa by the ocean front in the residential area of La Gloria. Our boy made friends with the neighbor's kids who loved 'a blond chico'. You'll meet more friendly locals there then in el centro. You can truly experience local life in this area while walking to mini-supers, market or local restaurants. And the sunrise above the Carribean is facing the Casa every morning!
One and only drawback is that it's a 10 min ride by a taxi (however they ride very frequently and cost only $ 2) to the North end (Playa Sol was our fav) where you can play in the water while watching sunset. All Isla's best restaurants are also there. Again, it's quite easy to get there.
La Gloria is perfect for families with smaller kids or anyone else who'd like to get a flavor of 'real Mexican Isla'.

My 3 year old son and I stayed in the casa for a month and we had a wonderful time! The house is very clean and well-maintained and is stocked with everything you need to feel right at home. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and my son enjoyed playing witht he little girls next door.
Donna Rivera was very helpful with any needs that came up and she is a wealth of information about where to go and what to do on the island. She also recommended Sophie the babysitter who took excellent care of my son so I could get away and have some "adult time."
The casa is located a good distance from the centro area so I would definitely recommend renting a moped or golf cart if you are staying for more than a few days.
