Cottage For Sale: The cottage is for sale so there is a For Sale sign on the property. We anticipate that we will have a full season of rentals. We do have some weeks in the summer tentatively committed. As we advised our renters last year, we want to assure you that this should have no impact on your rental. Also, we have advised our real estate agent that there will be no showings of the house when it is rented. If you have any concerns, please let us know.

Beware of the stairs!

My family rented this cottage in July 2008 and overall we were happy with our selection. Our biggest concern was the circular staircase, it's narrow and metal and not an easy undertaking - especially since the eating area is downstairs and the kitchen is upstairs. We quickly got in the habit of loading a tray with our food and then using the outside stairs to get to the first floor, then we entered through the sliding door off the deck.

Our only other problem had nothing to do with the rental or the owners - the neighbors had a nasty habit of shooting off firecrackers nightly between 10 and midnight. It seemed as though we were just drifting off to sleep when the loud explosions would go off.

The dock/deck were our favorite areas and we were lucky enough to have wonderful summer weather all week. The kitchen has everything you could imagine and the family room is plenty large to spread out and play games.

Keep in mind that it's the renters responsibility to take their garbage to the dump and all items MUST be sorted by plastic/glass/paper, etc. We found out the hard way on our last morning and had to sort through a week's worth of garbage!

All in all, I would rent this unit again - but I would feel better about it minus the firecrackers!
