What a great spot for a true Maine vacation! This classic Victorian home with fabulous front porch is located in the fishing village of South Bristol and has views of the harbor. Two minute walk to water! Walk down the street to buy lobsters, walk or run around Rutherford Island, and Christmas Cove, drop in the kayak and explore the peninsula or ocean, or just relax in the hammock on the front porch and listen to the boating activity. The house still retains many of it's original features and is a comfortable mix of period details with modern amenities. There are original tin ceilings, antiques and an eclectic decor. 3 bedrooms upstairs (2 double beds, 1 single), 1 bedroom on first floor (single), full kitchen, living room, dining room, full bath, washer and dryer, TV, DVD, internet, stereo, wood stove, outdoor furniture and gas grill. This is a great central location for day trips to Pemequid beach or day cruises to Monhegan Island and other locations.

Location: Boothbay Harbor Area < Maine < USA

People boat, kayak, bike and hike, play golf and shop and dine in Christmas Cove, Damariscotta or other coastal towns. Enjoy music and art at Round Top. Antique, attend auctions or visit the skilled crafts people at Edgecomb Potters. South Bristol is a peninsula where the Damariscotta River enters into the Atlantic. Water is everywhere! Our house is located at what is known as 'the Gut'. This is the fishing village area that has a “swing” bridge to allow boat and fishing traffic to cut through to the ocean as apposed to taking a longer route which brings you around Rutherford Island and Christmas Cove. South Bristol is a combination of a working fishing/lobster village and a summer community. It is not a built up tourist area such as Boothbay Harbor, however the area is in great demand for vacationers. Great effort is put into maintaining the charm of the village and balance between the year round population and vacationing folk.
