|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Located in the vibrant, south end of Orr’s Island, this property is in an area of summer homes originally known as ‘Cottage Lots’. This owner-occupied property was not part of that land division and has remained in the same family for about 175 years....
The Gull is accessed via private stairs located at the back of the building (east side) which lead to a deck with amazing ocean views you will not soon forget. Here you enter the 600 sq ft unit with an open floor plan that easily accommodates the queen size bed, 4 person dining table and living room with pull-out full size sofa. There is a full kitchen, eating bar and a separate bathroom with tub/shower .
Just below us is a pebble beach where you can explore tidal pools, swim or relax and drink in the beauty....
To the south of the property is the Cribstone Bridge to Bailey Island. Here you find Princes Point, home to H2Outfitters and the Salt Cod Café....

We are perfect for your stay on beautiful Orr’s Island .....
This property has been in The Black family for at least 175 years. Tim and his family spent summers here when he was a child and, about 25 years ago, Tim purchased the home from his parents and has lived here ever since.... Cheryl grew up in the Portland area before moving here to Orrs Island 18 years ago... In addition to owning rental property, Tim & Cheryl own a floorcovering business called 'Designs Unlimited' which has been in business for over 30 years.
We love living on the coast of Maine. There is nothing like the smell of the ocean or the sound of the waves. Whenever we travel we always appreciate the view that awaits us when we get home.
My husband and I thank Cheryl and Tim for letting us stay in their lovely studio apt. with only a 2 day notice. They were very kind and accommodating and we very much appreciated working with them on such short notice. We loved the studio apt. and it was all, and more, then described. Loved the view from the deck and it's location. We will be back again with kayaks.
This property is delightful. We stayed downstairs but also got to see the upstairs unit. Downstairs has the private bedroom, upstairs has the 2nd bed in a fabulous loft. Both units have everything you could possibly need. The cafe on the corner was beyond scrumptious. I would go back just for the corn chowder and strawberry rhubarb pie. There is no exaggeration in the description of this place. The views are even lovelier than the photos show. The guest units were spotless and extremely comfortable. Best sleep I ever had on a pull out sofa (memory foam mattress). The owners were very kind, and attentive to anything we needed (which really wasn't anything). This was my first VRBO experience, and I am happy to say it was a big win.
Two of us stayed in the Anchor unit which is a 1BR apartment on ground level. The owners, Tim and Cheryl, have anticipated all of your house keeping needs and are happy and helpful to suggest things to do...or if you just want to relax to the ambient peace and quite this is it. You can sleep to the sound of the surf, or close the windows and turn on the a/c if you prefer. Within walking distance is a great restaurant, Morese's. In a clam shell, Orrs Island is a beautiful spot and the Anchor is a great find! We will be back!!
Another wonderful stay added to many previously experienced. The apartment is so comfortable and well set-up for vacationing stay. There is lots of info for the visitor and guides for the general area. The island is great for easy relaxation or great adventure experiences. Kayaking is super-there's several access places and many islands to paddle to. There are trails to hike and pleasant walking about the island. LOTS of great seafood eating opportunities. Touring and shopping are very available. However, that would mean you would have to get off the deck, take yourself away from the view and wonder toward civilization-not easy to do! Tim and Cheryl are so helpful and charming to rent from. They will help your stay to be the best it can be.
This was our second year to stay for a week at Tim and Cheryl's cozy studio. The location is great for visiting Freeport, Brunswick, Bath and Booth Bay. But, who the heck wants to leave such wonderful views from the studio's deck? We can't say enough good things about our hosts. Definitely a terrific couple and lovely accomodations. A gem of a place.
Our family has been staying with Tim and Cheryl for years and every time we visit, we've been very happy. The apartment is well furnished, has great amenities and is close to beaches and restaurants. It's our home away from home on Orr's Island.
There is much to do on foot and by car. Located a short drive away are museums, theaters, movies, shopping (including LL Bean), train rides, a sand beach and many other attractions. Or stay local and enjoy a stroll across the Cribstone Bridge; eat at one of the areas fine restaurants; charter a boat for a fishing or sightseeing adventure; drive to the end of picturesque Bailey Island and shop at Land’s End Gift Shop; taste the sinfully delicious homemade candy at the Island Candy Shop; or lounge and read a book on the 'back shore'…the possibilities are endless.
