Photos and Description of the Orrs Island vacation rental 600 sq ft studio sleeps 2/4

Located in the vibrant, south end of Orrs Island, this rental is probably the best kept secret on the island. The studio is in an area of summer homes originally known as ‘Cottage Lots’. This owner-occupied property was not part of that land division and has remained in the same family for over 150 years. The second floor rear studio unit is accessed via private stairs to a deck where one is greeted by amazing east and south views of the Atlantic Ocean. While this is an open floor plan, it is large enought that the living, dining and sleeping areas are easily defined - and there is a separate full kitchen and full bath. Just to the south of the property is the Cribstone Bridge to Bailey Island. Built in 1928, it is the only bridge of it’s kind in the world. Here you find Princes Point, home to H2Outfitters and the Salt Cod Cafe. This unit is perfect for a week or a long weekend.

There is much to do on foot and by car. Located a short drive away are many museums, theaters, movies, shopping (including LL Bean), train rides, a sand beach and many other attractions. Or stay local and stroll across the Cribstone Bridge; eat at one of the areas fine restaurants; charter a boat for a fishing or sightseeing adventure; drive to the end of picturesque Bailey Island and shop at Land’s End Gift Shop; taste the sinfully delicious homemade candy at the Island Candy Shop; or lounge and read a book on the 'back shore'…the possibilities are endless.

  • We accept MasterCard & Visa.
  • Our rates are for a 2-person occupancy. Additional guests (limit of 2) are $20 pp-per night. Children under 12 (same family) stay free. Additional nights added to 1-week stay are $100 per night.
  • Reservations for 2 nights and reservations made less than 3-weeks prior to check-in date must be paid in full (by credit card) when reservation is made. Otherwise, a deposit (by credit card) equal to 1/2 the TOTAL rental rate is required when reservation is made, with balance due 2-weeks prior to check-in date. Deposits/payments on reservations will be refunded only if we are able to rebook your reservation. There is a $50 cancellation fee on all reservations.

The studio on Orrs Island

My husband and I thank Cheryl and Tim for letting us stay in their lovely studio apt. with only a 2 day notice. They were very kind and accommodating and we very much appreciated working with them on such short notice. We loved the studio apt. and it was all, and more, then described. Loved the view from the deck and it's location. We will be back again with kayaks.

Family of 4 stays at comfortable studio apt.

My husband and I slept in the queen size bed in the main room and both our children slept in the adorable sleeping loft which was very fun as it is up a ladder and private, with a window. We found the apt. spacious, it had internet, satelite t.v., propane barbeque on the deck, air conditioning, books/magazines/games/cards, and everything else we could want. The views were gorgeous and the walk to the 'back shore' took literally 1 minute down the lane. The beaches here are very rocky, but we had fun collecting sea glass (small pieces, but plenty of it) and beautiful rocks of all shapes and colors. We bought paint pens and when it rained, we painted rocks - which was lots of fun. There are several restaurants nearby and Cook's corner is only 20 minutes away with lots of shopping, fast food, and movies, etc. We visited Cundy's Harbor and ate lunch there then checked out the great gift shop. The Land's End gift shop on Bailey's Island is also very good and there is a nice beach there that is more sand than other area beaches. Cedar Beach on Bailey's Island is also good although parking is a pain (this is the beach you can see from the balcony of the studio apt.). The owners were very nice and gave us our privacy, but also supplied much information in a helpful binder for us to learn about the area. I recommend this place to anyone who loves historic ocean villages and beach combing or wants a quiet getaway in lovely surroundings. Sea kayaking was available

Great view from deck!

This is an adorable second floor, one-room combo kitchen/DR/LR/bedroom, nice place for relaxation. The deck makes the place; nice place to sit and have your meals or just enjoy the view, which is wonderful. The owners have a nice yard with chairs in a semi-circle around the fire pit. The only complaints were a sulphur smell in the water (but we were the first to use it that season so it may have disappeared later in the season) and a rotten egg smell from the propane stove. The owner was very attentive in trying to fix the problems, and made up for it with a certificate for a local restaurant. It's in a quiet residential area; short drive to shopping and beaches. Popham State Beach is not far, and a wonderful place to spend the day. I wouldn't hestitate to go there again.
