Enjoy “The Present”, a beautiful, tastefully furnished home just minutes from Ellicottville and Holiday Valley Ski Resort. This home boasts an idyllic country setting with wonderful views, large rooms, and cozy charm throughout.
The house has been completely remodeled. It is located on a 3.75 acre lot with a great deal of privacy. There are two bedrooms on the lower level, one with a twin bed, the other with a pull-out couch. Also on that level, there is a full kitchen, dining room with wood burning stove, large family room, and full bath. Lastly there is a wrap-around porch, where our guests can drink in awesome views from the hot tub.
On the second level there two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and a set of bunk beds, the other with a queen size bed and a twin bed. There is also a full bath on the second level.
We wanted to thank you for letting us borrow your house. We had a wonderul time and if we ever come back that way we would like to use your house again. Thanks again.
I rented this home for an outing with nine of my nieces and nephews along with my sister-in-law for a trip to Niagra Falls. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was really clean. The property is beautiful, and it was very quiet. We arrived after dark, so we couldn't see the surrounding area, but when I woke up the next morning, the mountains were just beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Nicely laid out home.Liked the location outside of Ellicottville.
A couple of things to be improved:
Pillows smelled and either should be washed or replaced.
Sheets and towels should be replaced.
Need more towels. Only had three bath towels for five adults!
Together, my sister and my family rented this home and had a wonderful time. 4 adults and 4 children under the age of 8 had plenty of room to spend time together or apart from one another. The listing description is accurate as are the photos. The location is great and we were able to get to both ski hills in under 10 minutes. The property was clean and the hot tub was a hit after a long day on the slopes. There are lovely views from the windows and the hot tub in particular. Ellen was extremely professional to deal with and addressed any questions or concerns immediately. We would definately reccomend this property to friends and relatives as it is affordable, well maintained and close to Ellicotville and all attractions.
We had a wonderful time at the house. It was a great getaway weekend.
Wonderful location- close to Ellicottville and Holiday Valley ski resort. Clean and spacious house for a large group or family. Best place we have stayed in so far surrounding Ellicottville. There were 8 in our group - 3 adults and 5 teens. I had a little different experience than the posting before mine from Jan. 2011. When we arrived driveway had been plowed but deck was covered with well over a foot of snow making it impossible to even walk on it. We fought to clear a spot around hot tub just to be disappointed upon opening it and getting the water circulating and finding it was not maintained properly before our weekend stay. Cloudy water with strong foul odor. House was great as far as cleanliness. Well-stocked kitchen aside from needing a new spatula or 2 for eggs, pancakes, etc and some new dishtowels and dishcloths would help too. One thing that was lacking - washcloths. There were 8 of us and only 6 washcloths could be found so this created an issue. We made due but I was a little upset because I had emailed ahead of our trip to inquire about just this thing. Had I known this, I would have brought some along. It accommodates 11 guests so it should have 11 towels and 11 washcloths. Outside entryway lighting was burnt out which made it dangerous to enter after dark due to the icy conditions at the doorway. No replacement bulbs could be found in the house anywhere or we would have changed the bulbs. Downstairs bathtub drains slowly so you are standing in ankle-deep water while showering.
My suspicion is the house is maintained by a cleaning person/agency who does not have an eye for little details aside from cleanliness that really do matter to a paying guest. If these issues are addressed we would definitely stay here again and again when heading to Holiday Valley for a ski weekend!
We have stayed at a few locations close to Holliday Valley Ski resort, and this is by far the best place we have stayed. Very big, spacious house that easily holds 11 people. We had 11 people and did not feel cramped for space at all. It was nice to have a full kitchen with full dining room. Hot tub is a great feature after a cold day of skiing. Very close to the slopes as about 5 minutes from downtown Ellicotville. Ellen, from memorable getaways, was very professional, very organized and very quick with all her communications. They take great care of this house and had the driveway plowed and deck cleared off for our arrival. No problems at all and highly recommend!
Ellicottville is nestled in The Enchanted Mountains of Western New York. The quaint village is full of lovely shops and specialty stores, as well as lively pubs and excellent dining establishments. The village plays host to several festivals and special events weekends throughout the year. Holiday Valley, one of the premier Ski slopes in the Northeast, lies on the edge of the village. Other outdoor activities include cross country skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, antiquing and fishing. Allegany State park is located 13 miles to the south. The Village of Salamanca is nearby and is home to a Seneca Nation Casino.
