My husband and I had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. The location was very interesting and culturally diverse. Getting around was very easy via the subway which was only three short blocks away. I advise getting the unlimited weekly pass for the subway, at $24.00 it's a real deal and you can get anywhere fast. Having a car is actually a burden. We spent half our time in Manhatten and half exploring Brooklyn. I was surprised at how much there is to see in Brooklyn. We only scratched the surface and will have to return. The apartment was very comfortable and the kitchen was great. Just the right size for two people.
My family and I will never forget our Christmas trip to NYC, and we will never forget the fantastic accommodations! This Brooklyn brownstone was everything advertised and more. If you want the true Brooklyn experience, you should stay here. The apartment was very clean and roomy, and it was authentic in every way. We had a family of five and there was plenty of beds for everyone. This apartment was on the garden level, which was very nice. We had a small private backyard and our own entrance under the stoop. The location was perfect - lots of local flair! There are stores and restaurants on every corner, and we were just blocks away from the subway that took us to the city every day. The owners were very nice. They had decorated the stoop with Christmas lights. When we decided to come a night earlier than we had planned they had everything ready to go and just made it all so easy. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to NY. If you are planning a trip you should strongly consider this apartment!
We spent 6 nights in the apartment. It was lovely. Very clean with good quality fittings, towels and bedding. The location is excellent with just a few minutes walk to the subway. Our hosts David and Jacqui were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. It is easy to get to JFK with no toll charges. We went to a local flea market which was fun, ate in Atlantis Diner( very good), and tried Peaches restaurant ( excellent ! soul food small place ) both the blackened catfish and the cassoulet are superb. We were with our son and his girlfriend . The bedroom arrangement is such that we had to walk through their room to get to the kitchen and bathroom. This wasn`t a problem as we went via the hallway at night so we didn`t wake them up. Very comfortable beds. Chris and Peter Charnley.
A travel friend and I bussed to NYC for the July 4 weekend. We opted to stay and explore Brooklyn, rather than the usual Manhattan. We made the perfect choice with this townhouse. David is a wonderful and interesting host. The townhouse is only the shortest walk to the subway station, which we used non-stop all weekend. There are tons of very good ethnic restaurants in the area, and David had a huge pile of restaurant menus in the apartment. Of course, since this is NYC, there were plenty of options to have dinner delivered, which we chose to do one evening. The apartment has every amenity you could ever wish for and more. The rooms are HUGE and wonderfully furnished. The kitchen was tricked out with anything and everything and is a HUGE room with a wonderful huge island in the center. The beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was wonderful with all amenities. There was even a washer and dryer, which we really didn't need for just a weekend visit. Best of all, the large and private backyard with a table, chairs, and an umbrella. My friend and I travel extensively and have rented many apartments. This was, without a doubt, our best stay. There was simply no down side at all. We will return for sure!!!
A great appartment in a nice neighbourhood. Owners very nice and helpfull. We, my husband, my 11 year old daughter and I, stayed for 6 nights in the appartment. The weather was great so we could also use the garden to have breakfast. My daughter loved the small motorcycle in the garden. We used the living room only for bedroom as the kitchen is lovely to relax and have a drink. Subway is around the corner, it takes about 20 minutes to go to Manhattan. But Brooklyn is also very nice to spend some time. Very good and nice Italian restaurant nearby. Can't wait to come back :-)
We highly recommend this apartment: it was absolutely perfect for us. It was warm, comfortable, and everything in it worked beautifully. It meant we could just relax when we got back after a busy day exploring the vast number of New York attractions. It was not only immensely practical, but interestingly and eclectically decorated: the subway map shower curtain came in very useful! One of the best things about this apartment was that the nearest subway station is on the A line, which is the one that goes between the airport and Manhattan, making moving around New York’s Subway system when you’re laden with luggage and shopping bags that much easier! We would also highly recommend talking to the owners who know a lot about the city and were incredibly helpful and gave us the warmest welcome we could possibly have had! We are definitely going to stay here again.
Excellent location within N.Y.C. close to all subways, museums, restaurants, entertainment, theaters, beaches, botanical gardens, parks, clubs, Chinatown, music venues, festivals
