The Bandol is a comfortable home base for enjoying daily life like a local in Paris!
Our Paris apartment rental business started with one special pied-à-terre located on the Left Bank near the Eiffel Tower. Friends and family loved staying there for the fantastic Paris views and the location – walking distance to cafés, landmarks and wonderful shops. They enjoyed living like a Parisian, shopping in the nearby open-air markets for the freshest foods, buying warm baguettes next door, enjoying café au lait on the balcony and eating at affordable brasseries and restaurants just around the corner where locals dine. We have a passion for sharing “la vie Parisienne”—the authentic Parisian lifestyle—and our goal is to help you fall in love with Paris while discovering, exploring, tasting and savoring new sights and experiences in this incredible city!
The decision was simple: location, location, location. We chose the 7th arrondissement on the Left Bank of Paris after a long search, because it was the absolute best location we could find – combining a lively village-like atmosphere with an unbeatable location in the heart of Paris. Financially it was a stretch but it has been worth every penny. We wanted to live in a beautiful quartier located near the romantic Seine river, surrounded by bistros and shops and walking distance to classic Parisian sights. We also wanted a safe neighborhood, centrally located with easy access to landmarks and museums… and with more open-air markets than any arrondissement in Paris. The 7th offered it all!
We loved the fact that the 7th has maintained its unspoiled village-like feel where we greet our butcher, baker and local cheese specialist daily. They know what our favorite cheeses are and just how thick and browned we want our baguette. That is what we wanted to find – an authentic and intimate Parisian neighborhood. From the 7th we can stroll to our favorite haunts through beautiful streets and along the riverbank rather than taking the metro.
We tried a variety of neighborhoods and the 7th offered the best access on foot to everything we savor and enjoy about Paris: Paris landmarks, museums and monuments on the Left Bank, to world class shopping on the Right Bank, to the antique dealers on the Rive Gauche, to the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre, Rodin Museum, Eiffel Tower and even the Arc de Triomphe. We can walk to discount stores in the quartier next door, enjoy morning jogs and bike rides in the lovely Champs de Mars gardens across the street, take a sunset walk along the Seine to Place de la Concorde and home along the riverbank.
Within a ten-minute walk of the apartment you’ll find major tourist attractions including the Eiffel Tower, Champ de Mars park, Seine River, Musée Branly, boat, bike, segway and sewer tours, Ecole Militaire, rue Cler open market and world class shopping on Ave Montaigne. There are several major bus stops at the end of the street and the nearest metro and RER (local train that goes direct to Invalides and Notre Dame) are a short seven-minute walk. Fifteen minutes further and you can be enjoying the Trocadero, Museum of Mankind, Four Seasons Hotel, Plaza Athenee (famous for being the venue where the final episode of ‘Sex and the City’ was filmed) and Invalides.
The apartment is set amongst excellent patisseries, bakeries, butchers, grocery stores, restaurants, cafés and boutique shops. We have included a list of our favorites in our detailed Paris manual, which can be found in your apartment.
