|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
This beautiful lakefront home has over 2700 square feet, 3 bedrooms plus a loft and 3 full bathrooms. There are 2 king beds, 1 queen and 2 queen sleeper sofas. It can sleep 10 people very comfortably. We have 85' of frontage on a sandy all-sports lake. The lake is spring fed and very clean and the depth increases slowly so kids have plenty of room to splash around. A premier golf course is a few miles away.
The history of the house: The house is immaculate and all furnishings are new (furniture, mattresses, linens, towels, etc.).
Because we used to be renters we have tried to reduce what you'll need to pack by stocking our house with everything we think you'll need for a comfortable stay. There is a can of coffee next to the coffeemaker as well as tea bags, sugar, creamer, salt and pepper, and cooking spray. We also give you aluminum wrap, plastic wrap, a new scouring sponge and cleaning products such as dishwashing detergent and spray bottles to clean the table and counters after a meal. We supply paper products such as paper towels, napkins, toilet paper and kleenex as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner. There are also 2 hair dryers, and we provide all your towels and washcloths as well as an abundant supply of beach towels. The house has a large capacity washer and dryer that you are welcome to use. We leave laundry detergent and stain remover for you.
The main level and loft: The house has two levels plus a loft. Each level has a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom so two families could easily share the house. The main level has a great room (combining living room, dining room and kitchen) with sliding glass doors to the deck; a master bedroom with a king size bed, cable TV and DVD player, master bathroom and walk-in closet; a second bathroom with a jetted tub; a laundry room with a large capacity washer and a dryer; and a loft over the great room, which includes a queen size sleeper sofa and desk.
As you can see from the picture, the kitchen is modern, spacious and clean. There is a coffee maker, blender and toaster and abundant dishes, glassware, cookware, and serving pieces, including plastic dishes for kids.
The dining area has a table and six chairs. There are also 4 bar stools that surround the kitchen island and a high chair.
The main floor great room has a gas fireplace, cable TV and a DVD player.
The lower level and outdoors: The lower level has a living room (with a queen sleeper sofa) and cable TV with a DVD player. There are sliding doors to the patio. The lower level also has a second full kitchen; two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a queen) and a full bathroom. It also has its own thermostat separate from the main floor for your comfort.
We offer a paddle boat and a row boat with a small motor down by the beach. There are beach chairs and a beach umbrella for those who don't like the direct sun. We have life preservers for small children all the way up to adult size. There is plenty of sports equipment for those times the kids don't want to be in the water. Besides the paved area by the garage where the basketball hoop is there is a substantial backyard to enjoy as well as a swingset. In the winter the hill down to the lake makes a fantastic sled hill and we are right next to snowmobile trails. We keep a binder in the living room with area attractions (winter and summer) and direction
If it's Wednesday it must be Craig's Cruisers. You get to play miniature golf, go go-karting and play bumper boats 'til you're exhausted for a reasonable flat fee. We go anytime we're in town on a Wednesday. There are also batting cages and a Chuck E. Cheese style arcade so this has become one of our favorite places in the summer. We also go berry picking and make muffins with our harvest and love to visit the local ice cream shops (Whippi Dip and Home Town Creamery - both on Holton Road). The movie theater (Cinema Carousel) is a favorite because you can pour all kinds of toppings on your popcorn (sometimes it really is the little things that make life so good).
Susan North and Terri Giampetroni purchased this house in 2007
My sister and I had been renting homes in this area for about three years. We loved the time our families got to spend together and knew that we had to buy our own home to make even more memories. We love being right on the lake and that we can truly relax here without leaving the comfort of home behind.
There is both much to do and nothing to do at our house depending on your mood. We have spent days by the water swimming and paddle boating and going in for the occasional bite to eat. We have also spent busy days miniature golfing, go-karting, hitting balls in the batting cages and going out for ice cream. The trip just wouldn't be complete if you didn't spend at least one day at Michigan Adventures Amusement Park. I'm a fan because the lines are generally short for the rides (sometimes there isn't even a line at all) and the water park is large and can accommodate the little tykes as well as the teenagers. Most of all, it is clean.
As the days go by you realize that you've forgotten the date and that you don't feel any stress because you don't have to be anywhere at any particular time. The air is clean, the lake is warm and the only noise you hear is your kids laughing and squealing in delight in the water.
We came here with two families total and the house was PERFECT for this. Our kids loved the house more than anything else (...that we paid and took them too!!) They kept saying they just wanted to play in the 'backyard' (by the dock:) We caught tons of fish off the dock, loved the lake because it was so shallow and safe for the little ones, and built fires in the sand at night. The owners make everything very convenient by providing so much at the house...so packing was simple, which is always nice! Couldn't have asked for a better value or a more fun time!!!
This was our family's 3rd year renting in Western Michigan and we hit the jackpot with this house! It was by far the best-stocked house we've rented; you really only need to bring your clothes and stop at the nearby Meijer for groceries. Everything else is provided, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper, and kitchen essentials!
We were 4 adults and 3 kids for most of the week and had plenty of room to sleep, eat and gather, or not, as we chose. We added 2 visitors from the area each day and 3 more adults who stayed for a couple days during the week and we still were very comfortable. The house was also spotless and very updated. No wi-fi, but that wasn't really an issue for us. The descriptions and lists of amenities was completely accurate!
The owner was easy to work with and very accommodating (Thanks Teri!)
Both our grandsons (ages 6 and 3) said the never wanted to leave and could we come back again next year! I think that's a ringing endorsement! You will not be disappointed in this property!
Our family stayed at the Twin Lake Village home on Hart Lake last week! Everything was as stated in the description of the property and the amenities provided. This home met and exceeded our wishes and the fact that it was air conditioned was a very welcome feature. I would recommend this for families with young children.
The House and property are beautiful and well maintained, everything you could possible need has been provided for you. We had a wonderful time and will definetely rent the home again ,,,,
our family enjoyed an intergenerational week without any housing issues. we loved the site and found it great for young children and friendly to those who were older. Great place, well taken care of.
These folks have thought of it all!!!
Everything you could possibly need is included in this huge, modern home. An unbelievable value for the money.
Great deck with a large gas BBQ grill for meals, star gazing, and late night conversation overlooking the lake. Great fishing from the dock for the little ones, or in the john boat with the trolling motor. (caught three 10" plus bass)
I have a hard time believing there is a nicer home for the money to rent in the area.
The owners are very helpful and informative with the particular needs of your trip.
For sight seeing, Mac Woods Dunes tour is a must up in Silver Lake. We also had a nice day at the Country Dairy Tour. Muskeegon has many things to see and do and the public beach is aces.
After a day of sightseeing, our grand kids would ask if we were going to "the beautiful house?" That is the highest recommendation.
Our family, including 8 kids ranging from 2-15 had a great week. The lake is great for young kids with a clean beach area and water shallow enough for our 4 year old to stand in at the end of the dock. As for the house, the pictures and description tell the story. It is a clean, modern house with plenty of room for our family. There are plenty of beach towels and bath towels for everyone. The lake was as quiet as advertised and we were often the only people on it. The house is also close to many western Michigan beaches, and the sand dunes. One thing just briefly mentioned in the desciption is the loft. It has a sleeper sofa, desk, recliner, and two skylights. It made a great bedroom and the recliner was a favorite spot for the kids to go to read. We highly recommend this house for families looking quiet place close to western Michigan attractions.
We are twenty minutes from Michigan Adventure - an amusement and water park; minutes to championship golf at Stonegate Golf Club; 15 minutes to a Lake Michigan public beach; a short drive to mini-golf, go-karts and indoor arcades; 20 minutes to Muskegon, which has downtown shops, summer festivals, a dancing water fountain, fishing charters, etc.; 30 minutes to Double JJ Ranch which has horseback riding and an indoor water park; 30 minutes to an outlet mall; near to local U-pick berry patches and ice cream shops.
