This unique one-room cottage with vaulted ceilings and loft is a maximum-efficiency get-away for up to 6 people. Double bed folds into wall when not in use, couch converts into double bed, and the loft with a padded, carpeted floor accomodates two in sleeping bags, with hexagonal window overlooking the private patio area. Flat-screen TV with surround sound, local phone and wireless internet service, washer and dryer, natural linens provided. The Italian-style design features a spacious tiled shower, hammered copper kitchen farm sink, heavy-duty gas cooktop, roomy antique cabinet, microwave, toaster oven and refrigerator. This is the smaller of two rental houses on a 1-1/2 acre park in a quiet and intimate Tahoe-like setting. Just an hour from San Francisco, the cottage is on the grounds where Lu Watters (1912-1989), traditional jazz musician of international fame, built his home. Conveniently located near highway 101, the wine country, 3 miles from Sonoma Stage University.

Wonderful getaway cottage

We could have not asked for a nicer place to stay as we explored San Francisco and the surrounding area. The cottage was well furnished and comfortable. Location was great too, close to highway 101, easy to get to SF or over to the coast and north to the big trees. Great vacation home and nice owners.

The place was great, all the way around. Ron and his wife have done a tremendous job taking care of all the little things in a home-away-from-home that make it special. I was travelling with my girlfriend to visit wine country, and stayed there for a week. We were able to cook excellent dinners there several nights with the wonderfully outfitted kitchen. The only drawback was the lack of a traditional oven, compensated for by a small electric table-top model. The touches in the bathroom and everywhere else where simply top notch. Great stay.

I stayed in the studio for a week, and can't say enough good things about it! It was very cozy, with lots of charm and all the modern conveniences you could ever want. Every detail has been attended to, and all building materials are super high quality and unique. The fully-furnished kitchen was very nice, and I enjoyed some homemade meals during my stay.

Ron was super attentive, making sure I was comfortable during my stay. He even came and built a fire in the outside firepit on a couple of nights, which was a real treat, especially having come from a city where outdoor fires aren't allowed!

I would highly recommend this studio or any of Ron's other vacation rentals. You won't be disappointed!
