Spring and early summer are exceptional times for early fishing or exploring the numerous area walking trails and waterfalls, some cascading over 90 feet. With over 200 inches of snow most years, the rivers are gorged, the fish are spawning, and the spring green is on its way. Whitewater activities, river trips, and canoeing are all outstanding this time of year. The spring is absolutely revitalizing in the north woods. Summer is jam packed with fun exciting activities. Hundreds of miles of ATV trails traverse Price, Ashland and Iron counties. This is an ATVers paradise. You can have the best of relaxation by enjoying a campfire and the sounds of the wild OR the fast paced tourist activities being approximately 40 minutes from Minocqua or about 1 hour from Hayward, Ashland, Bayfield, and Washburn. This is truly the best of relaxation and entertainment. Park Falls is 7 miles and Butternut 5 miles away.
Fall and Winter Activities:
Fall is a great time for people that appreciate the autumn colors, hiking, biking, canoeing, or enjoy the thrill of viewing or hunting wild game. This is a great time to go after that trophy, musky, walleye, sturgeon, whitetail deer, black bear, turkey, ruffed grouse, woodcock, or any wild game you enjoy pursuing. Park Falls is the Ruffed Grouse capitol of the world and Glidden is the Black Bear capitol of the world. This area is a wildlife viewer or hunters dream. With an average of 200 inches of snow fall, this area is a wonderland for those who enjoy winter sports. Over 1,000 miles of snowmobile trails between Price, Ashland and Iron counties. You can access the snowmobile trail system directly from your door. Some of the best cross country and down hill skiing trails are near by.
