Hello everyone! Our names are Becky and Brandon and we live in South Florida with our two children. Ryder is 4 years old and Hudson will turn 2 this coming summer. As a family, we enjoy traveling to different vacation spots such as the beach and mountains. We also visit Disney World/Sea World a few times a year since we live about 3 hours away from the Orlando Area. While planning our last vacation, Ryder requested that he wanted to see snow. Becky was familiar with Maggie Valley since she had great childhood memories of visiting her grandfather who lived in the area. While exploring Maggie Valley, we fell in love with the natural beauty of the mountains along with the town itself. After our vacation, we decided to purchase a home in the area. Now we want to share our cozy mountain retreat with you!
We have put a lot of work into our house in order to make it feel like your own home away from home. During your stay with us, we hope enjoy all the amenities that the home as to offer. We have one rule– take a deep breath, breathe in the clean mountain air, relax and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds this home. Enjoy!
Brandon and Becky Jones purchased this house in 2014
You will love as do I love the altitude of 3900 feet and being so close and private in nature. The waterfalls nearby make it a wonderful relaxing visit with so many great restaurants, friendly hometown people and all that nature has to offer. The spring is awesome with all the new spring flowers and rebirth and the fall is just as splendorous in colors bursting out in every direction. This is what our Great Maker had in mind when he painted the mountain pictures.
Watching the beautiful Carolina birds soar by, with wildlife galore, as well as the peace and tranquility that our home offers with all it's privacy and seclusion makes you feel like Heaven. The hot tub on the deck is a perfect place to look up at the stars on a clear night, watch the fireworks from above as never before, and the clouds create a multitude of fascinating views after a small shower or slight temperature change. The cool night temperatures make night time so restful with the doors and windows open in the summer. Imagine having to cuddle under the quilts on a clear summer night, while the crickets and frogs sing their night time songs.

Dear Jeannie and Joe,
Now we have spent our 2nd Thanksgiving in your beautiful home. Everything was as perfect as last year, with a few new memories.... We went snow skiing at Cataloochee Resort (Alex's first time). The day started rough for Al, but by mid-day he had his own fan club!! It was very fun and everyone was so nice....Even the ski instructor who had to help me up after Al plowed me over! We wanted to horse back ride at Cataloochee ranches but there was too much snow on the ground. I would recommend the stables at Queens as the horses appear much better cared for. Not to mention it's a few miles up the mountain the views are fabulous. Of course we went to Waynesville and ate at Nick and Nates....a few times. It's so good and I would tell anyone that you must try their pizza and beer. Other things we did were shopping in Cherokee, lots of hot tub time, lots of cozy fires, and cooked a yummy Thanksgiving feast - just for the two of us. There is a must have recipe in the Southern Living cookbook above the microwave - "Sweet Potato Surprise" - My second year making it. It is so good I had it printed on my Christmas cards to share with family and friends. Well - until next time.... thank you for making our holiday perfect. We love your home.
P.S. The recliiner is a great addition!!!!!

My husband and I (along with our Chihuahua) stayed at Falcon Ridge August 8-15, 2009. We absolutely loved it! The cabin was beautiful and had all the essentials of home. The view was incredible, especially from the hot tub. We enjoyed grilling out on the balcony and saw all types of wildlife including wild turkeys! The owners also called to check on us and the status of the cabin upon our arrival to ensure that we were satisfied and didn't have any questions or concerns. The cabin was also located close to several attractions: Ghost Town, Cherokee, Wayensville, and several wonderful restaurants,. We would highly recommend this cabin and plan on vacationing here again in the future!
My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and it was gorgeous. You literally wake up IN THE CLOUDS! Its perfect location to Maggie Valley, not even 10 mins to town. We had a absolute wonderful time. The drive up to the house is NOT for big trucks and 4 wheel drive is a MUST. The only Con was no A/C but theres always a good breeze to cool you off.
My Husband and I, my Cousin and her husband spent a wonderful, relaxing week IN HEAVEN. Literally, being in the clouds, and despite a LOT of rain, we checked off several items on our Bucket Lists! That includes watching fireworks from the Hot tub, zip lining at Ghost Town, golfing in Waynesville and LOTS of great places to eat. Despite a very well cooking ready kitchen..we ate most meals out and snacked at home! Definitely check out Butts on the Creek, J Arthers, Sweet Onion and Underwoods (near Lake Junaluska). We hated to say goodbye to our little piece of Heaven...but look forward to another reunion there one day.
The property was very well maintained and filled with personal touches in decorating and amenities. The beds were extremely comfortable and the hottub a true blessing after long days of hiking.
My sister and I were looking forward to our stay at 'Just Below Heaven' and believe me we were not disappointed. While the ride up the mountain was 1.3 miles, it was filled with beauty and excited us to turn each corner and wait for what was to come. And we were not disappointed.
The home was everything that Jeannie said in the piece as well as on the phone when I spoke with her. There was not one thing out of place and there is nothing that I would recommend for improvement....it is really 'Just Below Heaven' in all ways.
The attractions nearby are within a reasonable driving distance and we had the opportunity to visit Cherokee (would not recommend); Ashville (what a great place); Waynesville (our favorite) and we so enjoy Joey's Pancake House. There is so much to do in Maggie Valley but the ultimate is the beauty from the porch and the peacefulness of the hot tub.
My sister and I plan to go back next year -- we only need to decide when and give a call to Jeannie. She is a wonderful person to work with. Thank you for sharing your home.
Thanks Jeannie for allowing us to share your beautiful home at Falcon Ridge. It was everything that we had hoped it would be; clean, cozy, fully supplied with necessary items and well maintained. We have stayed at many cabins in the area over the past 15 years and this was at the top of list. Not only was it as described above, but the view was wonderful as well. If anyone is looking for a quiet, well maintained get away, this is the place to go. Also, great owner service and attention.
MUST SEE attractions include Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Resort and Snow Tubing, Cherokee Indian Reservation and museum, Harrahs Casino in Cherokee (17 mi), Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway with miles and miles of scenic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge, Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Ghost Town in the Sky Amusement Park, Whitewater Rafting, Biltmore Estate and Winery, Antiquing, Hiking, Shopping, Horseback Riding and lots more. Within a short drive you can see the roaming elk in the Cataloochee Valley of the Park, Mountain Farm Museum and Mingus Mill. Only 1 hour away, on the other side of Smoky Mountains National Park, you can visit Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Ripley's Aquarium and museum, and Cades Cove auto loop. So much to see and do!
