GREAT SPACE for a Carefree Family Vacation

We were a family of 5 adults and 4 kids ages 8-1/2 - 12-1/2. The home worked just perfectly for us for the entire week. There is a spacious feel throughout. Our pre-teen grandsons used the basement rooms for creating and rehearsing a music concert for us without disturbing the adults or the neighbors (hopefully!). They may have been audible to the whole neighborhood during the Friday night concert in the living room! Our granddaughters especially enjoyed the hot tub. All this left the adults plenty of time and space to relax both inside and out, as all seating was very comfy. The home is visually stunning, which added to our pleasure. The Hinsdale location turned out to be perfect in terms of being "midway" between outings to the Jiminy Peak area and down to the Normal Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, both recommended. Beds extremely comfortable all around. Dining was ideal, with our grandkids set up on one side of the big island counter, leaving the other side free for prep, and the big dining room table for the grownups to spread out .
To be specific about the water, there was plenty for all of us for all our ample water needs. The hot tub never caused any problem whatsoever, although in all cases we respected the "reasonable use" and hot-tub care requests made by the owners. Nobody was deprived of anything. The house really worked perfectly**, and we recommend it without reservation. **One of our grandkids caused a stoppage in the downstairs bathroom. We called the owners in CT, & a plumber arrived within 45 minutes and efficiently repaired the problem..
There were just two things that keep me from saying that on a scale of 1 to 10, this home is a 12: One was that, because we were arriving from the West Coast by plane, the owners agreed to provide towels for us, but the towel supply left was overloaded with bath towels and practically no hand towels or wash cloths. My husband and I had to share one hand towel and one washcloth, and we did not find a phone number to call the housekeeper. The other "ding" was that the "lakefront" that's available with the property is quite tiny (about 12' wide), with no comfortable place for an "oldie" to sit while the kids played in the water. However, it really WAS enough to launch both the "house" kayak, and a blow-up raft the driving part of the family brought along.
All in all, the house was really terrific.
