5 Bedroom Spacious Lakefront Chalet, Private Dock and Beach, Hot tub, Game Room

I realize this review is very after the fact, however my guests & I have raved about the experience to everyone--and I know how much the reviews on this site helped us to make a decision--so here I am!

I contacted the homeowner via email after reading about them on homeaway.com. They replied within 6 hours & to my delight they had our dates available. The rates were VERY reasonable & I did QUITE a bit of research beforehand. I was planning a weekend getaway for my boyfriend's birthday with 12 of our closest friends. Location was very important for us. Half of us were coming form Philadelphia & the other half from the NYC/CT area so it needed to be easily accessible. The property was located in a lovely gated community and although a couple of us got lost along the way, I'm not convinced it was because it was hard to get to (google maps was spot on!)
You should note the the one aspect they are very strict about is WHO is coming. They require the name, address, & phone number of each guest prior to Check In. The Security Guard at the front gate checked the ID of each passenger in each car. If your name was not on the list, you weren't getting in (which thankfully wasn't an issue for us!) We felt very safe knowing they had this level of security!

Check in time was 4pm Friday & Check out was 1pm Sunday. I asked if it was OK to check out later on Sunday so we could enjoy more of the day and they graciously obliged since there was no one coming in on Monday. This was really helpful! They have a cleaning crew that cleans both the house and the hot tub in between each rental which was included in the cost. There was a security deposit ($500) which they returned, as explained, about a week or two after our stay. The house had just about every amenity we could ask for--including what was most important to me, a stocked kitchen! By this I mean pots, pans, dishes, etc. We, of course, were responsible for bringing our own food, personal items, linens, and towels.
Although the space is a little dated, it has all of the features of the perfect rental property. The views were STUNNING! We've all talked about going back on a weekend when there isn't 2ft. of snow so that we can enjoy the lake which is right out the back door! The hot tub, BBQ grill, and fireplace were absolutely the highlight of the weekend. The homeowners were very accommodating and always responded to my emails timely. I would absolutely recommend them & their property!! A++

It is very rare that I take the time to right a review. I have been fortunate to travel throughout the years and decided to stay local for a weekend getaway. I was eager and nervous to visit the property. Since in a few occasions the listings have not met the physical appearance of locations. However this home exceeded my expectations. The home was very well maintained and immaculate. The views were amazing . I hosted a get together of 12 friends and family and the space was more then enough. The grounds were well kept and there was enough entertainment indoors that we rarely had to leave the home. THe property was easy to get too and the owners did a great job in following up and assuring that we had all the information needed. The neighbors in the grounds were friendly and helpful and I am excited for our next get together at this location.

My friends and I (who are in our early 30s) rented the property for a boys weekend of relaxation. Marlene couldn't have been nicer or more responsive to my initial inquiry and many following questions. The house was true to the pictures and the lake even more beautiful even though it was half covered with ice. The property was clean and well taken care of. It has a warm older time feel with all the modern amenities. The hot tub surrounded by beautiful trees is a really special touch. The weekend was a huge success and we didn't once leave the house! I will be renting there again when it is a bit warmer to get the full benefit of the lake and deck.
