CENTRALLY LOCATED HOUSE IN CLASSIC TORONTO NEIGHBOURHOOD

Toronto House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 7-8)

IMPORTANT: THIS PROPERTY WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE VACATION RENTAL MARKET ON AUGUST 23, 2014.

This charming, immaculate 3 bedroom home is ideal for the business traveler or family. At Mount Pleasant and Eglinton Avenue, it is centrally located in a classic Toronto neighbourhood. Fully equipped house with on-site parking. 2 minute walk to the bus, 5 minute ride to the subway. Details, Rates, and updated Availability Calendar below.

Perfect for anyone planning to stay in Toronto, whether for business or pleasure. This 1925 home in Davisville Village/ Leaside has recently been beautifully furnished and decorated with the traveler in mind.

The neighbourhood is in mid-town, and has always been popular with singles, couples and families. 'Davisville Village/Leaside' is known for its excellent recreational facilities, outstanding shopping districts, and active nightlife.

Leaside's main shopping district is on Mount Pleasant Road. This stretch of stores is highlighted by a large group of antique and collectable shops that attract people from all over the city. Home decorating stores, children's clothing and toy stores, and an excellent selection of restaurants all add to the ambience of this street. A pharmacy and grocery store are within walking distance.

Leaside residents also shop on Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue. These two streets contain a plethora of gift shops, clothing and accessory stores, bakeries, specialty food shops, restaurants, and cafes.

This area also offers motorists quick access to downtown Toronto via either Bayview Avenue or Yonge Street. Toronto's highways and expressways are located within a short drive of Leaside Village.

One is close enough to the heart of the city without the hustle-bustle and city noise.

This two storey house has a charming, private back garden with flagstone patio and lush perennial growth. Here you can relax in the spring and summer planning your next day’s adventure. Or sip an after dinner latte from the local café while lounging on the large front porch under the shade of the tree and watch the neighbourhood in action.

There are two private parking spots in the back.

The living room is tastefully furnished with a comfortable, large leather couch, coordinating chairs, and nesting tables. There is a slim, flat screen LCD with cable television and DVD player for your use. The expandable dark wood dining room table can seat eight and has a matching buffet; perfect for entertaining. Floors are elegant, dark hardwood. A safety gate has been installed to prevent young children from accessing the front basement stairs. Built in pot-lighting and chandelier light up the main floor in the evening.

The kitchen is large, with a small eat-in area. It is bright and fully stocked with a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, flat-topped stove, toaster, coffee maker, and electric kettle. All kitchenware is supplied including cookware, cutlery, dishes, glasses, dish towels, and placemats.

There is a convenient two-piece bathroom leading from the kitchen area.

Off the kitchen, facing the patio, is the sunroom. It is furnished with a futon couch, plush floor cushions, and an AM/FM radio/CD player with separate speakers and a subwoofer. This is a nice bright room for relaxing. There are large windows, and sliding patio door. The two skylights add extra light. The futon opens to provide a comfortable double bed for extra sleeping space.

The upper level features three bedrooms and the main, four piece bathroom. The stairs, upper hallway and bedrooms have been newly carpeted for warmth and comfort. Each room is painted a different colour, and is warmly decorated for your enjoyment. The entire upstairs has excellent lighting. A night light is also provided.

The master bedroom provides a very comfortable, supportive queen-size bed. There is a built in closet with full length mirrors, dresser, and night table with clock radio and telephone. Extra bin space is available under the bed for belongings. There is a television on the dresser.

The second room provides an exceptionally comfortable twin bed with built-in drawers, dresser, full-length mirror, and built-in closet. NOTE: There is one bed in this room.

The third room has a queen sized Murphy (wall) bed. There is a dresser, and plenty of wall hooks for hanging things.

I have comfortable futon mattresses to increase sleeping space.

The newly renovated basement is a comfortable sitting/play area with a desk as well as sleeping for three. The washer, dryer, iron and board are located here.

The bathroom has bath, shower, shower caddy, shelf, and drawer space for your toiletries.

A portable crib is available. It includes a change table attachment and bassinet options. It also doubles as a playpen. A fully adjustable high chair as well as a booster seat are available as well.

There are plenty of fresh bed and bath linens plus extra blankets, and pillows. Kitchen portable and master bedroom phones are available for local calls.

The central heating and air conditioning units work well and can be easily adjusted for your comfort.

I am certain that your accommodation here will contribute to making your time in Toronto a wonderful and memorable experience.

Guestbook comments from the owner
We travelled from Nova Scotia to spend Christmas week 2012 at Soudan Avenue and to visit with our children and grandchildren. The house was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable, and we were particularly impressed with the very well equipped kitchen where we cooked Christmas dinner for 8 with no difficulty! Kudos as well to the Camerini Ristorante around the corner which you recommended. Heather, Wolfville, NS.

This is a GREAT house to rent!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I rented this house for a week while in Toronto for our son's wedding and found it THE best way to go. It could not have worked better! We had plenty of room. There are many places in the house for privacy, even with 8 of us in the house (a few of us doubled-up)

The location is perfect too. Restaurants and coffee shops are a very short walk away, as is the grocery store (Sobeys) and a collection of unique shops (e.g., the Flaky Tart, whose fresh shortbread and strawberry rhubarb pie were absolutely delicious, and the Culinarium, which features only foods from Ontario -- the fresh strawberries and the cheeses were exquisite). And the subway, just a few blocks away, gave us quick, ready access to Bloor St., downtown and elsewhere in the city.

The wireless internet was very nice to have too. We briefly had a problem connecting to it, but Caroline arranged for help that solved the problem, pronto.

We'd rent this house again. We recommend it unreservedly.

Spacious, well equipped for entertaining, convenient location

  • 5 of 5
We rented this spacious, clean, well-equipped and smoke-free house for a week during our daughter's wedding. It was ideal for our family of 6, including a toddler. There was plenty of room for the bride and her attendants to dress and have their hair and makeup done at the house before the wedding. Having a Starbucks and Sobey's just half a block away made entertaining before and after the wedding much easier. We stayed for several days after the wedding to sight-see and found the house to be conveniently located in a quiet, tree-lined neighbourhood, close to shopping and within an easy walk to the subway. The owner was helpful, flexible and very accommodating . We would rent this property again and would recommend it unreservedly to friends and family.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in this house for 3 very enjoyable weeks on our recent holiday in Toronto. We're a party of 6: 3 adults, two 16 year old boys (both over 6 feet tall) and a 9 year old girl. The house was very comfortable. Our first week the temperatures outside were in the mid to high 30's Celsius and being from Ireland we sorta needed the air-con and it kept us comfy. 2 of the kids slept int he basement, and although even in the heat this can be a little chilly, there are heaters provided and they loved being down there.

The kitchen is a good size and well equipped, and there are several grocery stores (including a Sobeys) within 5 minutes walk. The large dining table was brilliant.

The location is fantastic. We chose to rent a car as we like our independence, and a quick run down Mt Pleasant takes you right to the Eaton Centre (it was less than 12 minutes going in and about 15 going out). That said, the subway is a short walk away on Yonge Street as are some bigger stores, banks, cinemas etc. There are a lot of options for eating out within a short distance from the house, and our boys made great use of Starbucks which is just on the opposite corner from the end of the street. Location could not be better. There are 2 parking spaces but we had rented a pretty big car and managed it easily parking diagonally across them. The back garden provides a great little spot for sitting out to eat or just relax in the evening. Our daughter loved the park just down the road which is well stocked with play equipment and there are tennis courts and plenty of shaded seating.

Caroline is organised and very helpful, and there are clear instructions provided. Linen and towels are provided in abundance.

We would be very happy indeed to stay here again. We have traveled extensively in Europe and Canada and found the facilities and convenience of this property hard to beat for a Toronto visit.

Charming accomodations in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5
My family and friends needed a place to stay where we could socialize with other people while we were in Toronto for my daughter's wedding. This house was perfect. Everything, including shampoo and conditioner as well as dishes and pots and pans, was provided; there were lots of extra sheets, blankets, towels, and pillows. And the small back yard is delightful and provides a gas grill (which we used to make hamburgers for a crowd) as well as being a very nice place to sit and socialize. Parking for two cars is also provided!

The house is a half block away from a grocery store and a Starbucks, and is just off a main street that connects to another main street, so getting around town was easy.

The kitchen is big and easy to use. We cooked a lot of meals there for various guests and saved a fortune in restaurant costs.

We loved our stay there and would return in an instant. We thought the price was extremely reasonable and a terrific value.

Excellent location, and nice stay!

  • 4 of 5
We spent a week in this house while visiting family, and the location was excellent. Walking distance to MANY shops, stores, etc. 2 adults and 3 young kids, the layout of the house was perfect, and there was plenty of room had we had other family stay with us. Kitchen was well stocked with necessities and plenty of linens available for use. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone who needed a place to stay in TO.
