Fish right off the beach, rent fishing gear within walking distance, or bring your own
Walk down the street to Sailors Grill and play volleyball – numerous volleyball nets available.
Rent bikes or bring your own and ride the path to the State Park or the National Seashore.
Enjoy water sports in the gulf - bring your own, or rent kayaks, boats, waverunners, snorkeling equipment down the street .
About 10 miles up U.S. 98 there is a movie theatre, the Breeze Cinema 8. Drive a few minutes to the Naval Live Oaks Area, located on U. S. 98. There are 9 Santa Rosa Sound nature trails of various lengths (over 7.5 miles of trails) and a Visitor Center with a bookstore, exhibits, and nature and history videos.
Drive a few minutes to near Pensacola Beach to see Fort Pickens, the largest of four forts built to defend Pensacola Bay
Drive 16 mi (20 min) to Fort Walton Beach

Cocodries and Sailors Grill are both within walking distance. Cocodries has everything from burgers to really terrific seafood. Sailors Grill we really love for breakfast because they bake fresh every day and their baking is excellent. One warning – their portions are very large. Everything we have had there has been good.
Here are some other restaurants within 5 miles of our condo:
East Bay Crab House - 1.5 mi east of our bridge, nice family atmosphere, terrific food, but get there early, especially on the weekend. We have had the fried blue crab claws appetizer, the Broiled Shrimp & Scallops, Fried Shrimp and Fried Fish & Shrimp dinners and the Blackened Seafood Alfredo (2 meals easy), and all were excellent. Check out their menu for Vinnie R's Italian Restaurant on website. We've only eaten lunch here, but it was very good. The menu is very broad, from salads and subs to Shrimp Scampi, and Rainbow Trout. Really excellent pasta specials, too.
