This traditional Maine camp was fully renovated in 2007. In 2012 it served as an Artists Retreat for 'The Maine Attaction' artist group. The artist used Eagleview as a base of operations. Several works were also painted on location. The “Cottage” has 4 bedrooms and offers total privacy with spectacular views. Large windows offer stunning views of Mount Desert Island. Sliding glass doors lead to a large deck, the backyard and ocean. The second floor has three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have their own private balcony, perfect for watching the sunrise. A full bath with tub and shower, and a laundry room, with washer and dryer, is also conveniently located on this floor. The third floor offers total privacy. It has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a 3/4 bathroom with a shower. This floor has a large family room with a queen pull out sofa bed, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and games --perfect for afternoon tea, watching the sunset or evening activities.

Schoodic Scenic Byway: The Schoodic Scenic Byway travels through one of the last frontiers on the eastern seaboard (along Route 1 and 186 from Sullivan to Prospect Harbor). This region has many protected and private lands that are maintained as open space and agriculture to reveal an unspoiled and 'real' Maine. Pass through a working landscape of lobstering, clamming, blueberry barons and timberland.
Schoodic Peninsula Bike Tour: Loops take cyclists through the easternmost reaches of Acadia National Park at
beautiful Schoodic Point, as well as through picturesque fishing villages and along a
dramatic stretch of Maine’s rocky coast. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the point and
enjoy spectacular views of Mount Desert Island and Frenchman Bay along the way.
The 29-mile loop begins at the Schoodic Area Chamber of Commerce
kiosk on US 1 opposite Young’s Market and Mobil Station in
West Gouldsboro. The13-mile loop begins in Winter Harbor.
First trip to Acadia and what a wonderful place to stay! Everything you need is provided, plenty of space, and very helpful host! Would recommend to anyone going to Acadia. We had two families in the house and had a great time. Tony was super helpful in providing tips to make the stay easier/more enjoyable. Highly recommend this well-cared for , spotless, gem in Maine!!
Our family loved staying here! The property was very private, yet close to main roads. The space worked very well for 2 families with 5 children combined. 3 levels of living space allowed for some privacy. We spent so much time outside and in the water, kayaking and canoeing. When the tide went out the kids ran all the war to the island across the bay. Just amazing. Fresh mussels!!
The property was clean, well equipped and as described. The ride to Acadia-on Schoodick was just minutes, and the ride to MDI (bar Harbor and Acadia) was very easy to manage, a quick 35-40 minutes. Well worth the privacy!
We are planning another trip next year and hope to be able to stay here again!
Eagleview is by far a hidden gem with lots of charm and character. The view from every floor is jaw dropping and the fire pit in the evenings provided so much peace & tranquility.. Even though there were only 4 of us on this trip, we could have easily brought several more of our friends and still had plenty of room. We cooked in many meals and there were all the needed cooking items in the fully stocked kitchen. We spent several days in Acadia hiking from Sandy Beach to Otter Point plus Jordan Pond and a couple of hikes in the Schoodic Peninsular. You might say we ate our way through Maine enjoying fresh lobster, blueberry pie and blueberry pancakes - Chester Pike has the best homemade blueberry pie and blueberry pancakes and the restaurant is 3 miles from Eagleview. We also enjoyed their Haddock sandwiches. Our side trip to Campobello Island in Canada was not a disappointment. We loved our time here and the owner, Tony, was very gracious and very responsive. The only negative I have is that our week did not last long enough. I'd rent Eagleview again without any hesitation and recommend to all friends and relatives. Come and see for yourself!
This cottage is roomy enough but still keeps its cozy cottage feel. Its well kept and very clean. The third level worked out great. We shared the cottage with friends yet we all still had privacy. The kitchen was well stocked. We had everything we needed. We loved the fire pit and had a lot of fun sitting around it at night. The cottage lived up to its name when sitting out in the early mornings we could watch the eagles fish for their meals. It was quite a sight. Tony and his family were the best. Very gracious hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had loads of information about the area, things to do, and places to eat before our trip. A big thanks to the Lombardo's. We would definitely recommend a stay at eagle view.
Wow the views from Eagle cottage were spectacular !
The accommodations were great for two families with 4 adults and 5 teenagers. We had plenty of space and made use of the out door covered patio and the garden with fire pit. The upstairs sitting area was a bonus for later evening gatherings and views over the bay with the sunsets of particular note. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked, easily allowing us to cook family meals. This part of Acadia is a little removed from the main Bar Harbor district with the advantage of being of the beaten track hence not many tourists. We particularly enjoyed a cycle ride around Schoodic point. That said following the owners directions for a short cut to Bar Harbor worked well.
We will definitely go back again…
We are a group of three professional artists and a photographer along with two spouses. We were looking for the perfect place to use as home base for a week long painting trip, and Eagle View Cottage far exceeded our expectations!
The views from the house and property are positively gorgeous. The grounds are well maintained, neat and trim. Covered porch, deck, picnic tables, outdoor seating, fire pit all made for relaxing times eating, socializing (and painting!). The front of the cottage is adorable with buoys, lobster trap and wood sculpture, just charming.
The pictures of the view on the website look great but the actual view is so much better! We were delighted, it far exceeded our expectations.
Inside was absolutely clean and neat when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities. All the furniture in the common rooms and the bedrooms was comfortable (including the beds) and in good repair. Bathrooms all very clean. Sheets, towels, curtains and linens of every kind, all clean and fresh when we arrived.
The second floor deck was wonderful and the third floor bedroom, sitting room and bathroom give a nice option for more privacy.
The decor inside includes a large support bean carved into a sculpture, ask Gene the care taker (2 doors down) to tell you the story behind it, I won't spoil your fun and tell it here!
Both Gene and the owner, Tony were very accommodating and easy to work with.
We spent a great deal of time on the Schoodic Peninsula, part of Acadia Nat'l Park which is only 15 min. away. We loved the blueberry pie from Tracy's down the street on Rt. 1, enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting at Bartlett Winery, definitely worth a visit, try the Meade Wine, the Peach and the semi-dry Blueberry, bought incredibly delicious lobsters at the lobster pound in Sorrento.
This isn't a "tourist" area with gift and trinket shops, it's beautiful, quiet and more authentically "Maine". We will be going back!
