A Beautiful Location on Cape Cod

I was very pleasantly surprised! This house is in a private spot in the woods near Wellfleet on Cape Cod. The surroundings were beautiful - lots of birds, woods, large yard. The screened in porch was a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy nature free from the bother of insects.
The house itself is large, well maintained and comfortable. The arrangement was great for our group of 3 adults with 4 teenagers. There are several separate sitting and dining areas making it an easy house to share with our teenagers as we did not always need to be on top of one another, yet we could all be together when we chose to be.
The kitchen is quite new and well laid out with a washer and dryer at one end. Everything you might need is provided.
I would highly recommend this house to friends in need of a spacious vacation place - in fact, I did so today.
The kettle ponds on Cape Cod are great for freshwater fun - swimming, kayaking, etc. and there are 3 nearby at which one can park with a Wellfleet parking sticker ($60/week for renters), as well as several ocean beaches. We especially liked Gull Pond and Newcomb Hollow Beach, both just a short drive away.
There is a wonderful Audubon property in Wellfleet with a nature center and walking trails, one of which my 83 year old mother managed to walk to her great delight. The Cape Cod National Seashore surrounds Wellfleet and also has many trails (some of which are quite strenuous) to walk and events relating to the wildlife and natural history of Cape Cod. There is a bike trail in the national seashore.
Wellfleet itself is a charming, quiet seaside town with great character. Lots of interesting shops, a town pier on the harbor, public library which nicely accomodates tourists' needs and desires (computer access and other library services). WiFi access is available should you need to check your email while there - we took my son's laptop to the library parking lot on a Sunday afternoon and did so. The town has a large free parking lot near its center. There are numerous great restaurants in the area with fresh seafood. There are great fish markets if you want to cook your own fish or lobster.
For a more exciting diversion and change of pace, Provincetown is a short drive away and makes a nice day trip. It is a unique, eccentric, lively, and interesting town. In Ptown you can watch the colorful locals and tourists, shop in one of a kind places, or go whale watching .
This was a great vacation spot!
