Mar de Amores is a unique one level design villa that has 13' high arched doors and windows and 25' beamed cathedral vaulted ceiling. You will drive through an impressive drive way to arrive to these spectacular three bedrooms, two bath villa. A very tall arched door enters you into the very spacious living room with imported tiles and mahogany and wicker furniture. This cosy indoor spot has many Caribbean details that will make your stay very comfortable. The Cable colours TV/DVD and stereo CD player are in this area.

My family of 5 stayed at Villa Mar De Amores for 8 fabulous days. The house sits high upon the hill with the most gorgeous views of Chocolate Hole. The house is fully equipped with everything you could want or need in a vacation rental. We grilled out almost every evening and enjoyed eating at the outside dining area and admiring the view. Our kids enjoyed the pool while we prepared dinner. We have 3 teenage sons and we had plenty of room in the house. The house is very spacious and a grocery store is not very far from the property. We spent the week exploring beaches and the island and it was all perfect. St. John is definitely a little piece of paradise. I spoke with Claudia several times on the phone before renting and then she was quick to answer any emails I sent to her. She was wonderful to work with. The entire experience of renting, receiving information, etc. was entirely positive. Coolers and beach chairs are available at the house and we packed a picnic lunch everyday and explored a new beach. The only negative thing about the whole trip was having to pack up to come home. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
My husband and I went to St. John in April 2013 to celebrate our 20th anniversary, but stayed in a resort. We loved it so much that we wanted our kids (now aged 18, 15 and 10) to experience the beauty of this island. This house was PERFECT. The road up to the house is not for those with weak stomachs, but the climb is worth it as you have the whole top of the mountain to yourself. The views are breathtaking. I stood on the deck for hours just wishing that I could bottle the panorama to take home with me.
Myrtle, the local connection, was very friendly and helpful in answering any questions we had, and she met us in Cruz Bay in order to take us to the house.
The house was quite comfortable and had a lovely breeze. Note that the main part of the house did not have AC, but there was always a breeze and with the ceiling fans, it felt nice even in July. It was not AC cool, but quite "island cool". The bedrooms each had an AC unit that could be turned on at night for comfortable sleeping.
The location was very convenient: close to Cruz Bay and the two major grocery stores. We could just swing by those on the way back from snorkeling. Beaches were not far away at all.
Enjoyed morning coffee on the deck by the pool overlooking Chocolate Hole. Afternoons before dinner we would jump in the pool and dry off in the breeze. (Mosquitoes can be terrible, though, so come prepared with bug spray.)
We would DEFINITELY go back to this house! It was truly our private paradise for the week that we were there. I wouldn't change a thing.
My wife, my 21 year old son & 17 yr daughter, our best friend and I spent the last week in June at Mar de Amores on St. John and it was even better than we'd hoped (web photos do not do justice). The living room opens to an amazing deck with pool and a million dollar view of Chocolate Hole and accompanying Bays. The bedrooms are air conditioned which made sleeping during a very humid week restful.
The villa is at the very top of a really fun winding road that climbs a pretty steep hill (jeep or 4 wheel drive essential). It is private and did I mention the view? Worth the climb every time, and literally minutes from the Town of Cruz Bay.
Claudia, the owner couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. Her villa manager, Myrtle was a pleasure and did everything to help make our stay terrific. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. Even my two kids unplugged, relaxed, and didn't want to leave.
Needless to say, we highly recommend Mar De Amores and hope to return as soon as possible.
Beautiful view from the villa. A romantic and relaxing stay. Secluded and quiet. Drive up to villa frightening until you realize that your vehicle is capable of going up and around those steep curves! Well worth the drive!
You will not be disappointed! From the moment we entered the house, we were overwhelmed. It looks exactly like the pictures. The view is spectacular. After spending the days at the beach and exploring the island we would spend the evenings grilling some steaks and just enjoying the deck and the pool. A special thanks to Claudia and Javier for sharing their home and making our 2012 Thanksgiving week one we will never forget. We will be back!
Best place for a perfect family vacation! The pictures truly reflect the house appearance, a beautiful and clean house, with nearby restaurants, markets, shops and beaches!! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this property for single couples, families with kids or just a group of friends.

We can even assist you with car rental and tell you about excursions and many things.
