This Beautiful Cottage on Craigs Creek in New Castle VA, surrounded by Jefferson National forest, for hiking, ATV riding, hunting and access to beautiful sunsets atop these mountains on National Forest Roads.
This cottage has been recently renovated with special care given to make it very cozy and comfortable 'to feel like home'. The Cottage has been decorated in the Lodge/ Adirondack theme, Sante Fe Furniture through out, Glass Bear Tables, Ducks, Moose Antlers, Antique Cross Cut Saw etc, Pergo flooring, Pine wood walls, Rough Cut Lumber Trim and new carpet.
A bar area with stereo and bar stools is between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen with its décor of songbirds is open to dining area that has Sante Fe dining table w/chairs couch and 32in TV. The cottage is very spacious and open yet quaint and small for the family to be together while on vacation.
Enjoy looking out the picture window in the living room at the beautiful creek, the birds and squirrel's in the feeders (is very amusing). Have breakfast on the small screened in back porch or play cards at night. Step out the door and lounge on the Hammock that overlooks the Creek. Or enjoy the 60 foot covered porch on the front, that has a panoramic views of the mountains. The porch has ceiling fans, porch rockers, hanging swing, wrought iron bar height café table plus a comfortable cushioned patio set.
2 32in color TV's with DVD/VCR players for the kids favorite movies or family relax time.
This cottage is nestled on a private dirt road that runs along the creek with other cottages. So children can ride bikes and play with no worries.
There is a big fire pit behind the cottage on the creek for night camp fires, place for the kids to pitch a tent, and easy access to the water for swimming, canoe launching, tubing or just walking out the back and dropping a rod in the water to catch that nights dinner! Hopefully, But a grocery store is just down the road for those with the big fish stories!!
Hunters, hunting season. Come have all the comforts of home and be surrounded by Jefferson National Forest for quick access to the woods (for the big buck)!
Craigs Creek has been declared one of the Cleanest Rivers/Creeks in Southwest VA , The water is so clear you can see the fish swimming beneath you. And the sun's reflection on the water in the evening is breathtaking.

'Comfy, cozy, and relaxing experience. All necessities (plusway more) supplies. Well-appointed kitchen, loved the peace and solitude. Got lots of books read and baskets made. Bella (our schnoodle) loved the creek. Sadie our schnoodle wouldn't set a paw in it-she stood on the bank barking at bella as if questioning her sanity for loving the water. Both dogs enjoyed the walks. All four of us enjoyed watching the Squirrels, Chipmunks,Mourning Doves, Cardinals, Goldenfinches, Nuthatchers, and Titmice at the feeders. One day Art had to rescue the chipmunk who'd gotton into the feeder and eaten the seen down so he couldn't get out. We also loved the humingbirds by the front porch and sometimes through the picture window. The evening fog over the field wunder the full moon was pretty. Thanks for a restful vacation.
