  • Rentals are confirmed upon receipt of 50% of weekly rental plus $200 deposit. THERE IS A 5% DISCOUNT FOR PAYMENTS MADE IN FULL AT TIME OF BOOKING PRIOR TO MARCH 15, 2008! Balance of deposit and cleaning fee due 30 days prior to occupancy. $200 deposit less damages will be returned within 30 days of departure.

Good for skiing with family

Stayed here last week. Owner was very accomodating for our last minute request (one day notice!) and got the house ready for us. The kids liked the room with the bunks - they all stayed in there and had a slumber party. It is a short walk to town and the kids liked the big Christmas tree in town. Master bedroom really is small, but we only slept in there so it didn't matter. Loved that mattress in the master bedroom! I would recommend this house for families or even a weekend trip for a couple.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Nice place; but should have been a lot cleaner:

Great location and a nice home with a wonderful porch. But, on arrival we spent a good deal of time sweeping up the kitchen and cleaning the main floor bathroom. Floor was revolting, meaning dirty/hairy. Is that what is provided for by the cleaning fee ? This was not my idea of the way to start a vacation.

Won't go back as there are other options. We expected more and left it far cleaner than we found it.

Wow! What a suprise to get these comments almost 6 months after their stay. I spoke with the renters while there and exchanged emails afterwards and never had any comments from them about this subject, so I am totally suprised! I absolutely would have sent the housekeeper over there to address the issue. I try to call the renters on their very first day just to make sure everything is tip-top for this exact reason, and this issue was never brought up to me either during their stay or afterwards. I leave the housekeepers name with the renters as well. I will follow up with the housekeeper to address this as well as check with other renters. Also, I am now sending surveys to my renters after they leave. I checked over the surveys and all of them have "excellent" as the response to my question #2 (How was the cleansliness of the house?).

I hope that you, as a future renter, will take the time to read the surveys from other renters who have stayed at our cottage. I would certainly be delighted to make them available to you! Please be assured that this is the first and only negative comment that I have had like this and it truly breaks my heart because we work so hard to make the stay nice for our renters.

Great house for families.

We stayed at this house in August of 2008 with our 3 young kids. We had a great time. The intown beach was an easy walk with stroller/bike ride for our kids (ages 8, 6 and 3). We would walk into town everyday for ice cream, donuts or dinner. Bring your bikes for sure! We were unable to rent a bike with a baby seat on back because they were sold out. Luckily we brought the older kids bikes so they rode a lot. We also drove to Petosky state beach a couple of days where there were more waves then the beach intown. The house itself was clean and the owner very accomodating. The front porch is amazing and very relaxing. Bathrooms/kitchen are pretty basic (nothing fancy) but fine. Living room very cute and cozy. Overall I would definitly recommend this rental!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
