We stayed at this condo for the last 2 weeks of our vacation Jan 12-27 2011
We had 4 people in the unit for 3 nights.
It was tight for 4 adults but perfect for the 2 of us once our guest left.
The sofa bed is HORRIBLE, the mattress is nothing but springs and there were no blankets provided for it, we improvised with beach towels, I was horrified for our guests! I would not count it as usable sleeping area.
The main bedroom did have a comfortable queen size bed.
There is a night club on the corner across the street.This place blasted music from dusk to dawn 7 days/nights a week.
It was very loud and seemed to never let up. We nicknamed it the BOOM BOOM club.
Earplugs remedied the situation.
It is a bit far from the beach area and 5th AVE.
Probably wouldn't be an issue for a week, but for 2 weeks we wished we were closer.It is off Juarez which has shops and restaurants, but not the posher places of 5th if that is what you are after.
Cabs,Collectivo's are super accessible. If you have mobility issues the walk may be a concern since the side walks are in poor condition by our standards.
The supermarket is a stones throw from the unit and made getting groceries so convenient and easy, as well a McDonalds on the same lot.
We had some other deficiencies with the condo but we contacted the owners and they responded IMMEDIATELY to our concerns and within the day had done the necessary fixes to the unit. They were very kind and easy to deal with.
Overall the unit was fine.
The owners have made their own "guide book" which was a nice touch and had some great information in it.
They were also very accommodating to us by extending our check out time as we had an evening flight.
Great communication during our booking as well!
Owner's Response: We, as the owners of the condo, were very concerned when we heard of the challenges that Tracy was experiencing. We immediately rectified her concerns by installing a new mattress for the sofa bed and purchasing a new comforter as well. It seems our previous bedding for the sofa bed disappeared - where, we don't know! As Tracy mentioned, there were a couple of other issues with the condo that were also dealt with immediately.
Our #1 priority is the comfort of our renters and we believe that our condo provides excellent value as your "home away from home" for any one vacationing in the paradise location of Playa del Carmen.
