Beautiful home located on Puako Beach Road. Beach access are across the street a few doors down in either direction. Walk to general store. Remodeled with beatuiful high end furnishings throughout. Fully stocked kitchen with new appliances. Sit on the lanai and feel the ocean breezes. The home is a duplex with upstairs unit available for vacation rental and tenant occupied downstairs unit.
Gourmet kitchen and quality furnishings. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, plus lanai. High ceilings, ceiling fans throughout and windows allow cool ocean breezes.
Walk to the ocean and see the Green Sea Turtles year around. In the winter months the humpback whales can be seen off the local beaches. Puako gives the feeling of the Old Hawaiian Beach Town, yet it is within driving distance to world class resorts, restaurants and golf courses. Puako is also known for its amazing snorkeling and scuba diving. Local beaches include Hapuna State Beach.
Wow! This is definitely the best equipped rental we have stayed in. There is only one unit down below and most of the unit is above garages so it is really quiet. The fixtures and furniture appear very new and up to date and are quite comfortable. I have never seen a kitchen so well stocked. Also loved having all the towels (both bath and beach), the folding chairs, boogie boards, etc. Laundry was downstairs and full sized machines were great. Even detergent was supplied. Used the backpack provided for our trips to the beach, of which there are many close by. Puako is pretty rocky but it was fun hanging out with the sea turtles. It is a nice, quiet residential neighborhood. Loved beach 69 and thought snorkeling there was good too. Having the Hawaii Revealed guide book was really helpful and the owners also provided lots of useful information. We were a bit hot being upstairs and not used to island humidity. The fans were mostly effective but we did need the wall ac unit in the master bedroom at night, especially if we were out of the house all day with the windows closed. I don't know if this was typical weather or if it was unusually hot that week. One tip: do not try to "rescue" the geckos by hand to take them outside. My daughter tried to do this and got bitten. The lizards in Arizona don't seem to do this. Everything else about the neighborhood was very friendly!
We are a family with four kids,
including a toddler, and this was a
wonderful place to stay. The Puako area
in general has the best of both worlds:
It has that remote, old Hawaii feel,
free of traffic and crowds, but it's
minutes away from a grocery store and
world-class restaurants. This home is
beautifully furnished and decorated,
well-equipped, spacious, and
comfortable. Beautiful floors,
fixtures, etc., pride of ownership
really shows. It's every bit as nice as
it looks in the pictures. The shoreline
access a few doors down offers the most
incredible snorkeling we have ever seen,
and we have snorkeled all over the
islands. The reef seems to go on
forever, and it's full of corals and
hundreds of fish. Best of all, there's
rarely another soul in there with you.
You have an entire under-water paradise
all to yourself. Fabulous kid-friendly
beaches are minutes away by car.
We would stay here again, and recommend
it to anyone
We had a great time staying here for 10 days with 4 kids ranging from 15 down to 7 yrs old. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house is beautifully furnished. The kids could walk to the shore by any one of the numerous public access points nearby. There were turtles on the shore every single time we went and the snorkeling on the reef complex in Puako Bay was the best we found on the island. In addition the 69 beach and Hapuna Bay were just a couple minutes drive away. All in all a very convenient and quiet location in a beuatiful home.
We loved the house! It was immaculate, great location, friendly neighborhood, nice area to walk. The kitchen was better stocked than my own home. We bought fish and vegetables at the market and made wonderful dinners.
I attended a conference Feb 12th - 20th at the Fairmont Orchid, walking distance from the house. We stayed the first couple nights at the Fairmont. Everyone, including the kids prefered the house to the hotel. I definitely recommend this lovely home in Puako.
The rental is exactly like the pictures it is a wonderful location and extremely clean. I have tried to think of something negative to say and cannot think of a single thing. Beach gear, chairs, boogie boards and even games and toys are all provided. The owners are very easy to work, helpful and nice. We rented this in August of 2008 and will hopefully be returning soon
This is a GREAT place to rent. Spent a wonderful month here in Summer 08. It was even cool at night! Beautifully furnished HOME, great kitchen, even has GOOD knives (Henckel), super beds. Delicious mangoes fall from the tree across the street! Snorkel the reef at Puako by walking down the road 50 yards, or drive to wonderful Hapuna beach (1/4 mile of white sand) in under 5 minutes.
