Whaler`s Cove Resort is one of the most popular resorts on Kauai`s beautiful South Shore in Poipu. Your vacation rental is roughly a 3-minute walk from Baby Beach, a unique, quiet beach that`s fun for kids. The lanais have views that are difficult to beat. Perfect horizon-to-horizon views of the sunrise and sunset and the 24/7 ocean views are just fabulous. As for Whaler`s Cove in general, it will be more than you could have hoped for. If you want peace and quiet, first class condos, meticulously kept and beautiful grounds, a great private and uncrowded oceanfront pool, spa hot tub, lava-rock shower, barbecues, free parking and local calls and a full kitchen to use at your leisure, its Whaler`s Cove.
One of the wonderful benefits of Whaler`s Cove location is that it`s just a few minutes walk away from the new Kukui`ula Shopping Center, home to a variety of outstanding restaurants. This unique marketplace offers a diverse experience in shopping as well. Don`t miss the Kauai Culinary Market on Wednesdays from 4-6 pm where fresh, locally-grown fruits, vegetables and coffee, along with spices, jams and cheeses, are available to purchase while you are entertained with live island music. South Shore chefs take the stage at the Wine and Beer Garden to show their skill cooking local specialties. You often find special local entertainment at this very unique event.
Golf is minutes away at Kiahuna Golf Course, a par-70, 6,353-yard Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course which plays around four large archaeological sites, ranging from an ancient Hawaiian temple to the remains of a Portuguese home and crypt, built in the early 1800s, or enjoy the newly renovated, world-famous Poipu Bay Golf Course situated on 210 oceanfront acres -- challenging at all levels of play and yet fun for the novice as well. Thank you for viewing my properties!
My name is Amy Grant and I own a boutique vacation management company in Kauai called Great Vacation Retreats.
I happily work and reside in Kauai and have been managing vacation rentals on the Garden Isle for almost 4 years.
Been married to my husband, Scott, since 2003 and we have a beautiful little girl named Presley. When we aren't busy chasing her around, we enjoy going to the beach, cooking and traveling.
I love working with my guests to find the perfect place for them to call home while on vacation. It can be overwhelming trying to pick out the right property -- I can help. My staff and I take great pride in the properties we manage and believe that we truly have some of the best properties the island has to offer. We have been in each property numerous times and stayed in most so that we can give you an accurate description of what each property's amenities are, distances to the beach, sightseeing, restaurants, etc.
We can also help you with any activities you might be interested in while on island such as surfing lessons, private boat charters, guided hikes, stand up paddling, personal chef, childcare and much more!
Mahalo for looking :)
Owner/manager purchased this condo in 2005
Why Owner/manager chose Koloa
My husband and I were married at Kee Beach on the North Shore and visited the island several times after. We used to manage vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe and many of the owners also owned property in Kauai and asked if we would be interested in starting a business here. After a couple of years, we finally made the move and have been blissfully happy ever since. The island has so much natural beauty and outdoor activities, yet it still doesn't have that 'big resort' feel. It is a great, safe place for children and also makes for a perfect honeymoon or anniversary destination.
What makes this condo unique
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy here -- going to the beach, surfing, stand up paddling, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, taking a boat charter along the Napali Coast, kayaking, camping, biking, etc.
I enjoy getting a spa treatment at the Anara Day Spa at the Hyatt. If you enjoy going to a spa, their facial is perfect.
My husband and I met at culinary school and consider ourselves 'foodies'. We love the Kilauea Bakery for a great cup of coffee and the bialys (stuffed bagels) are amazing. Some other restaurants that we enjoy are Josselins, the Kalaheo Café, Postcards, Roy’s, Tip Top Café and Kauai Pasta just to name a few. There are some wonderful farmers markets here and fish markets (Hanalei Dolphin is the best) with their fresh local catches of the day. Ahi is, of course, an island favorite and can be found at many of the restaurants throughout the island.
Whale watching is from December - March and is quite a sight to see.
Some of the best golf courses in the US are located in Kauai.
We work with some activity providers that provide personalized hikes and activities that are 'off the beaten path' and truly show you what Kauai has to offer.
Guestbook comments from the manager
All posted photos of this property were accurate. The view from the living room and master bedroom is spectacular. The condo is roomy and nicely decorated. It was very comfortable for our family of 5. The property itself is older, but this condo is lovely on the inside. The age of the unit is apparent in the flooring and the kitchen. Although the place would be absolutely jaw-dropping if they updated the kitchen, it would probably also put this rental out of a realistic price range for many. I'd rather deal with a slighly older kitchen and pay a lower price for such a gorgeous view and perfect location. Important to note that you cannot walk to the beach from this condo. Although you're right on the water, all that is outside of your lanai is hedges and rocks. You have to drive 5 minutes to Poipu Beach. There is a cove with steps down to it from the parking lot of the property, and you can snorkel here and swim out to the bay. We saw a few turtles here, but the snorkeling was better at the beach. The management was very helpful, and the property was very quiet when we were there. Very few others around. It was nice to find a small cooler and some pool noodles in the closet. We left behind a couple of beach chairs we had bought at Walmart when we arrived. Also note- there are stairs from the parking lot down to the unit. No handicapped access. We enjoyed our stay and would return.
