The unit is one hundred feet from the sand of Sunset Beach, a popular beach for relaxing and surfing. We were pleasantly surprised when staying here in August 2007. Everything promised in the listing was delivered and more. We were met on arrival and shown around the loft and given instructions on all the important workings. The location is quiet, safe and as close as can be to the beach. We used it as a base of operations visiting Disneyland, Sea World, Universal, Santa Monica, Hollywood and it was the perfect place. The location is great, on the Pacific Coast Highway, 5 minutes from the 405, up the road from Huntington Beach and has a number of small shopping centers close by. The restaurants in the immediate area are great and affordable and well worth eating at. Underground parking, elevator to the room, air conditioning, BBQ, massive refrigerator and kitchen and the fantastic open plan makes the family holiday perfect. Very clean and well fitted out, all the bathrooms are big as are the bedrooms. I cannot recommend this property more, it is certainly worth every cent.

Nice, but needs work.

The layout of the home was perfect for our large family gathering. We had children, teens, and adults, and we never felt cramped. We loved the closed proximity to the ocean, and Sunset Beach was a wonderful, non-crowded family beach. The owner was quite helpful, and attended to all of our needs quickly and efficiently.

That being said, we were not satisfied with the cleanliness of the house. We were not able to check in on time because they were still cleaning. The floors were dirty, and the inside of the microwave was caked with food. The back bedrooms were quite hot, there was little cross ventilation. An overhead fan would help. Also, with windows opened, the traffic on PCH made sleeping difficult.

The pictures do not show that this is a large loft situated above a restaurant (delicious by the way!), and also a tattoo parlor. The home looked a bit run down from the outside, but once we got inside, it was great.

We appreciated the sand toys and boogie boards which were made available. The restaurants in town were great, and there was plenty for all of us to do. We all decided that we would stay there again, with the condition that the property was cleaned thoroughly before we arrived.
Owner's Response: I am writing in response to the Feed Back posted. Referring to needs work. I have never got any negative feed back either verbal in writing or other wise. So this is in response.
my regular cleaning lady called me sick about 3 hours before my guest were scheduled to arrive and so I had to work with a cleaning group that I have never used before resulting in the less than satisfactory cleaning. I have sense then gotten two back up cleaning crews and seen there work that is exceptional just like my standard lady. As far as cross ventilation there is two 10 ton AC units on the roof that can cool the building in a matter of min and there is also ceiling fans in every room that will accommodate for them as well as skylights that can be opened allowing for heat to escape and windows that allow for cross ventilation. These features must have been overlooked because there are routinely used by my guests. The windows are all double pained for noise.The Restaurant is in a building next door and it is not part of the building it is a zero lot line so it looks like it may be attached but it is not. The food is amazing at the restaurant and it only serves dinner and is not loud. It is a relatively small restaurant. The Tattoo Parlor just moved out due to the down turn in the economy and is no longer adjacent as well. The Building is a mixed-use building with the tenants on the second floor being a Tax service that is rarely in the office, an insurance broker, and a asset management company.The tenants on the second floor are 9-5 M-F not in on weekends. I am available 24-7 and if there are any issues with cross ventilation or cleaning I encourage guest to call me and let me know. When I meet this guest at the rental they told me they felt that the cleaning was not up to par. I explained to them what had happened and asked if they would like me to have another cleaning crew come and clean and they said no so I left it at that. As far as the building looking run down it sits only about 200 feet from the beach and the wind off the beach gets every building in the area dirty quickly. The building was built in 1994 and is only 14 years old. Most if not all of the other buildings in the area are well over 50 years old. If anyone has any questions pertaining to this response or needs clarification prior to making a decision I encourage them to email me and or Call me and I will be happy to spend the time and make sure all concerns, questions and comments are addressed.

Great start off the summer trip.

The beach loft was great. Plenty of room for my whole family. My family loved our stay. Towels, linens, were provided. Kitchen was well equipted. Close to all the sights. The beach was the best. I would highly recommend the property to anyone. Bill the owner was very easy to work with. He always returned phone calls, and showed us around the loft. I hope to be able to return sometime soon. The whole trip was wonderful.
