Just off Place Des Vosges, this apartment sits in the best area of the most sought-after neighborhood in Paris.
The 750 sq ft. apartment is up three flights of stairs --there is also an elevator. It is located accross two courtyards, with cross exposure, meaning it is very well lit, and offers absolute silence. The cross exposure also makes it easy to create a nice breeze in the summer.
There are two independent bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, the other two single beds, all high quality. Windows in both bedrooms face the south, so it's very sunny throughout the day. They open on a beautiful garden down below.
The living room has two windows also. It features a confortable sofabed, two loveseats, an antique mahogany dining table & six chairs, a flat screen HD television set with cable TV (includes CNN, BBC international, etc. ) and a small CD player
The bathroom is quite large by parisian standards. It has a tub that doubles as a shower. The boiler/water heater in the apartment provides unlimited, hot water on demand and allows for adjustable and efficient heating in the winter months.
The kitchen is separated from the living area. It’s fitted with a dishwasher, electric oven, gas cooktop, refrigerator & freezer, microwave oven, kettle, coffee machine. There is also a washing machine and a clothes dryer.
The 18th century building, recently redone, is at the corner of rue de Turenne and rue des Francs-Bourgeois, a stones throw from the beautiful Place des Vosges, two minutes from Musee Picasso and Musee Carnavalet.
Le Marais a very nice, central and safe neighborhood with plenty of trendy shops and boutiques ranging from fashion to antiques, plus lots of Museums and historic spots. Guestbook comments from the owner
Dear David, We had a wonderful time and the apartment was both charming
and comfortable! We had a day trip to Normandy on Friday of that week, and
enjoyed it thoroughly. Next trip I think we would like to stay at the
Normandy rental. I must look that up. We got the biggest kick out of the
"lift". We had to send the suitcases down one at a time. We especially
enjoyed living in a place with local Parisiens. It was so nice to see the same
neighbors each day with their cheery "Bon Jours". The bakery was fabulous
and each morning I would run out in my sweats for Pain du chocolat, and
croissants. The shops and restaurants were lovely and welcoming , and the
Metro beautifully clean, and easy to access. Compared to our subway system,
it was a treat, believe me. Thank you so much for renting to us. We had a
ball. The Lucases On Friday, November 12, 2004
